Little oasis
Sat in the central garden it was hard to believe that this hotel is located in a central very busy area. Lots of nice little touches such as fresh fruit daily delivered to the room and little gifts. Food can only be described as suburb freshly cooked by an army of chiefs.

・大雁塔の隣なので周りを散歩できる。ただし、城内まで少し遠いので、タクシーやバスで移動する必要がある。 ・毎日18時30分から音楽の演奏があり、音楽を聴きながら中の庭園で夕食ができる。 ・両替ができないので、事前にする必要がある。

In the thick of big pagoda action.
Staff speak english and are very willing to please. The courtyard style is delightful though a modern version and the nightly traditional music played is wonderful, thanks to the Yasmine band. The area is full of adventure, w markets behind and the musical fountain very close by.

Interesting experience
The appeal of this hotel lies definitely in its architecture and its location near the Big Wild Goose pagoda. The rooms and courtyard are peaceful and quiet despite being close to a park with many activities day and night. I would still say that the prices are steep considering all the pros and cons of this place. Having read previous reviews, I agree with most everything I read. The beds are comfortable, the food very nice. The bathrooms do smell slightly of sewage. I would add that our bathtub, although a beautiful wooden tub, was unusable because the plug did not prevent the water from leaking out. The staff were helpful and offered a car ride service to the terracotta warriors, which is useful if you do not have much time. However, the price was 200 yuan more than a taxi would have cost (approx. 40$) and much more than a bus from the train station (8 yuan, 1.6$).

Hidden Gem
We had a tough time finding the place having arrived at the Northern Train Station. It's located within a beatiful, expansive park called Tang Dynasty Art Garden (South of the busy City centre), and is spectacularly crafted in itself. The rooms all encircle a lovely garden, replete with streams, stone statues and other Chinese intricacies. The rooms can be a little draughty due to the imperfect carpentry of the doors, but the rooms are every bit as thoughtfully decorated as the surrounds.

Honest staff
This hotel was clean and staff was friendly. They spoke some English. As we were rushing to get a cab to the airport in the rain, I left my wallet (with cash and credit cards) on the checkout desk. When I realized that it was missing, I called the manager, Peggy, who was a great help! She communicated with my cab driver and I was able to return to the hotel and pick up my belongings. Everything was there...just as I had left it. I was very grateful for their honesty.

Beautiful hotel near Big Wild Goose Pagoda
We had a room with two twin beds right off the courtyard. The room was beautifully appointed. AC worked well, so well that my friend got a little chilly which is rare in Xi'an in August. The hotel staff were helpful although English is limited. Wifi worked well. The included breakfast was decent: eggs, bacon, pastries along with noodles, rice, steamed buns, etc. The grounds on the property are gorgeous and I only regret that we were not in Xi'an longer to enjoy them. NB: taxi from XIY airport cost around ¥220 and took about 45 minutes.

A charming place in a beautiful garden
Yes indeed, the garden is a small piece of art, the building and its decoration another one. Just going to the bkfst room is a charming walk! Absolutely quiet, yet in a busy area, surrounded by parks, garden and the beautiful wilde goose pagoda is one stone throw away. You see it from the garden. Staff is extremely and naturally friendly ( like most of the Xi'an people we met), Peggy speaks a pretty good english, and when other staff members don't, they try their utmost best to satisfy you. ! Excellent commendation !

Will stay in the future if the sewer is improved
It was almost a perfect stay except for the smell of the bathroom. Also the staff had taken many hours to figure out my reservations. There must be something wrong with the communication between hotels.com and this Tang hotel.

5/5 the exterior and interior common areas of the hotel are simply beautiful, elegant and enjoyable, location is super central, best espresso coffee in China we had. 4/5 bed part of the room, internet connection, toiletry. 3/5 bathroom (narrow, smelly and not very well mantained), breakfast (99rmb is overpriced for this quality), noises from the neighbouring park including early morning. Overall it is a good choice if you have to stay very shortly in the room and you can profit from the relax in the garden or from the park. Personnel spoke enough english to have it all clear and sorted out.

Satisfaction totale pour cet hôtel. Le personnel est agréable, serviable, efficace. Les chambres jolies. Un seul bémol sur le petit déjeuner qui reste trop "chinois". Emplacement agréable. Le centre est facilement accessible en taxi ou tuk tuk, le musée du Shaanxi est accessible à pied. Le parc autour de l'hôtel vaut la balade.

The motel is very traditional
Only negatives I have is the bed hard which is typical in China and the air conditioning was not working Rooms nice, bathroom small, the grounds are absolutely wonderful, the grounds itself is worth a visit Close to many restaurants, shopping and Chinese cultural places Breakfast was good, plenty of Western and Chinese food Many staff wear the Chinese traditional clothing which adds to the atmosphere Defiantly will come again

Traditional hotel next to Wild Goose Pagoda
Tang Dynasty Art Garden Hotel is a traditional Chinese hotel in architecture and room decoration. It gives you a feel of old China. The hotel is in the cultural area of Xi'an, with the Wild Goose Pagoda on the same grounds, as well as an enormous park with paths and very interesting statues and other art. At 8:30 every night there is a water and music show one minute from the lobby. The show is larger, but not better, than the Bellagio show in Las Vegas. The hotel is also surrounded by shopping. For fun, we went into the Walmart that was about 4 blocks away. There is also live traditional music played every night in the first inner courtyard.

Great location
Very happy with the location, within the park grounds and close to many restaurants, 150 m or so. Beds a bit hard for Western bodies but room generally fine and good to look out on greenery. Breakfast a bit of a scramble and very Chinese. Lovely classical orchestra plays every evening.Hotel name not shown in English at the front, so ensure everything is written in Chinese characters before arrival. Staff did their best to be helpful despite frequent language difficulties. Not perfect but recommended.

"Centrally-located" barely describes it
It's literally a short stumble from the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. After a day of touring around the Terracotta warriors, Muslim Street, and walking up the stairs to the top of the Pagoda, my tired feet were very thankful.

Elegant, lovely new hotel in a beautiful park with historic pagoda. Great neighborhood and within walking distance from at least 2 major art institutions. Staff very heplful. Floors a little dirty. Otherwise quite dreamy. I would make a return stay here in a heart beat, if Xian air pollution were not so bad. Also the staff got me a big discount for my first class air ticket to Shanghai. The Bell Tower was not able or willing to help me like the Tang Dynasty Art Hotel on the airfare issue. Very beautiful. Worth every penny.

Close to attractions but can be very noisy @ times
overall, very nice hotel, traditional Chinese garden and nice ambiance. Room and bathroom were very small, we had the twin bed setup. Unfortunately, all the twin-bed rooms are along a shopping street and therefore very noisy at night with shops using loudspeakers to attract shoppers. Also in the mornings, there were 1-2x during our 5 day stay , people were doing line dancing exercises using a stereo starting at 0700/0800 and lasting about 2 hours. Traditional live Chinese music female band was also another highlight of our stay.

非常好的酒店
古香古色的酒店，仿唐的建筑，整个酒店及房间布置的精致，庭院非常美，房间中的设施也很好，傍晚还有乐队演出。我们住的景观房，窗外就是大雁塔。酒店周边景点多，餐厅也挺多，离陕西历史博物馆也很近，有1000米。自驾还能免费停车。不足的地方：淋浴房下水慢，希望改进。

Nice concept and location bad maintained
The hotel has a very nice concept and a great location. Unfortunately it is very poorly maintained and for sure has not been renovated since it was build ages ago. The rooms are fairly small. There where quite some hair from the guest before in the bathroom. It seems except on reception they have only one lady in the restaurant with English language skills and the rest does not even understand basics in English. Worst of all was that, as we had lost our room key card they made us pay 30 Yuan for this piece of plastic. Unless the management of this Hotel changes I can really not recommend it.

Great location. Was 39 degrees and so hot in xi'an that it was great to come back to a lovely place to stay. Breakfast was generous. Staff were friendly and some spoke English well.

Visiting the Terracotta Army
The hotel itself is lovely - very well designed and comfortable . The only issue is the lack of English spoken by the reception staff in particular - there was only one who spoke a reasonable amount . They could also do with a nice bar or maybe make better use of the glorious courtyard gardens. The overall situation next to the Pagoda and the parks is lovely and great fun in the evenings.

A very nice place to stay
The the rooms are very nice and clean, the breakfasts excellent, and the staff as friendly and helpful as you could want. The location is just great. I am very glad that we read reviews and chose this hotel to stay in. There were people on staff to ask questions who spoke excellent English, and fine access to an interesting area and things to do.

Amazing location/space, facilities not quite there
As everyone else has mentioned, Tang is in an amazing location - not only within short walking distance to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, Tang Paradise, etc., but also near conveniences like a shopping center, Chinese and other options that would appeal to Western appetites, and in general a lovely area. The grounds are beautiful - even though you're in the bustling heart of a tourist area, the inner courtyards are peaceful, serene, and beautifully designed and kept, no question about it. The staff struck me as surprisingly unfriendly - any time we walked into the lobby, 9 out of 10 times we barely got a glance and never a smile. It was as if smiling and greeting guests were not part of their training. The rooms themselves were quite tired and in need of a facelift - the towels were graying and fraying, corners and paint chipped and peeling, and the "fresh" leafy cuttings in the bathroom (tiny vase with water) were limp and wilted. I was ready for a ROCK hard bed, like worse than sleeping on a tatami mat on a wood floor, but in my opinion the beds were just very firm - the kind that folks with bad backs would appreciate. If you're used to the ten-layer heavenly beds (which I love), these are not they, but they were fine! If the Tang management could check out a westernized hotel with an emphasis on service, it would be a flawless operation!

Comfortable hotel with very good personal service. Close to Great Goose Pagoda. Nice ambiance with classical Chinese music in the evening, readable breakfast of Western and Chinese food. Very hard bed, great for a bad back.

Perfect location
The location of this hotel is perfect, right inside a nice park. The music fountain was only a short walk away which was great. There were lots of restaurants and shops near the hotel. The only recommendation would be for the staff to be a bit more friendly and a smile now and then would be nice. We loved the coffee at breakfast but we felt the need to be apologetic when asking for it. This goes for the front desk, never once were we greeted with a smile, but that seems to be the case in most places in China.

An Atmospheric Stay
With a lovely compound of soothing courtyards and antique-like furnishings, the Tang Dynasty Art Garden Hotel is worth a stay. The location is outside of the City Walls but is only a few feet away from the Big Wild Goose Pagoda and surrounding gardens, shops and eateries. The nightly fountain and music show is just steps from the hotel. A slew of restaurants are nearby including a branch of the wonderful First Noodle under the Sun restaurant for its famous biang biang noodle. The Chinese breakfast buffet at the hotel is fantastic and filling enough to be brunch. The downside is that very little English is spoken by the staff, there is no tour desk or assistance, and WiFI did not work in my room (although signal is fine in the dining room and lobby).
