"Big welcome & excellent customer-service at the front desk! We were looking forward for a long time to staying at this very fine hotel , and finally managed to do this fun getaway in its 100th year -- Yay! Lovely array of breakfast choices, lovely & comfy room, with really nice old photos of the property. I am eager to return from MA for our 2nd visit, in the coming year."

"Interesting property. The room was clean. The TV didn't work the first night. No sound. The next day, the owner did fix the sound. He was very pleasant and loved my husband's BAD jokes!!! I would have liked to see some Brochures about things to do in the area as well as eating recommendations. Over all we had a good trip."

"I greatly enjoyed my stay at the Cambria Lake Placid. The room was clean, comfortable, and spacious (especially the bathroom and shower). Also, the room was outfitted nicely with a Keurig coffee maker, microwave, and fridge. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I had breakfast at the Haystack restaurant located on the property twice and each time found the service to be attentive and the food very good. "Friendly and attentive staff from front desk to housekeeping. Very clean room with beautiful view. Full use of all amenities offered by High Peaks. Walking distance to downtown shops & restaurants. Great stay!"

"Clean property but over priced. Staff were kinda clueless. Grounds are very nice. Worse meal I've ever been served at a high end restaurant. Totally inedible. Capresse chicken dish; chicken was tough and stringy, the fingerling potatoes seemed like they were prepared weeks ago, frozen and reheated. Tasted and texture of cardboard. Carrots (3 littlepieces) were good. The tomato brousetta tasted like acid. Complained and meal was comped. I can't believe that kitchen staff could serve such awful...

"We stayed in the Lake view room. Beautiful location and view. Room was spacious but it was a little dated. Workers were very nice and helpful."

"We liked the location, but I woke up both nights hearing the neighbors for a long while. Also the A/C sometimes felt m cold and sometimes seemed to be freezing up. The shower barely drained and the electrical plugs in the bathroom didn't work. Bed was comfortable."

"Not much to do in A Bay but cruise the river; visit Heart Island and for that purpose this place is great. It is literally above the boat dock for most of Uncel Sam's boats so you cannot be any closer to that attraction. However some nits to pick; yes the old building has been refurbished but not recently; it is clean and well kept but lacks the amenities I have come mostly to expect. For example, the flat screen TV is Standard Def only, so if you are used to hi def prepare for disappointment...

"We like the proximity to Saranac main Street mostly. Overall clean it was contemporary. We liked the tape in the room. But we couldn’t get all the TV channels you have to pay for Some. I do think they could have some shelving in the bathroom toiletries, hooks to hang things."
