"I'd happily stay again at the Hotel Queen Elizabeth in Gödöllo, which is essentially a suburb of Budapest, Hungary. Everything was great with one exception, which was the temperature. Even though it was cold outside much of the time, the hotel was too warm for my taste and the thermostat in my room seemed to do nothing. Eventually, I just opened the window to get come cool fresh air. At least it was possible to open the windows, that's often not possible.
Overall, the hotel building is charming, everything worked, the staff were great and the breakfast was excellent, and served in a beautiful restaurant. Hungary is a beautiful safe country with a fascinating history and Gödöllo is full of pleasant polite people. It was particularly lovely when I was there at the end of October, with the many trees showing autumn colors. The whole experience there was good enough to make me want to go back and take my wife."
"Beautiful location but definitely not a handicap friendly due to long and steep ramp getting to this converted old river boat to a motel. Rooms are clean but with basic amenities. Staff is friendly and breakfast is really good."
"We stayed here for 3 nights to escape the heat of Budapest, the resort is beautiful and well looked after. There is very little we could fault, the only exceptions was a rude man working at the spa who made us feel like we were interrupting his peace, and the automatic 15% service charge added whenever ordering anything from the spa. We asked for an icecream which they took from a freeze in the back room and yes 15% service charge added. The food was lovely for breakfast, and the dinner was good too, though the service was a bit slow, especially when you have children with you. Would definitely come back again though!"
"Excellent and peaceful location. Spa and amenities are within nice standard, just too bad that you have to pay extra for using sauna. Cleaning is a bit questionable as during our 4 days and 3 nights stay, nobody changed our bedsheets or towels. Also, the mattress was perhaps old and too used, lumpy and deep in the middle which gave me backaches. Overall, happy with our stay."
