We arrived quite late, having travelled up after a long week of hard work. Although we missed the opportunity to eat, we had a drink and retired to our room.
Walked through a very pleasant looking outdoor seating with well landscaped gardens and ambient lighting, Even by the entrance to the block where our room was, there was a couple of chairs and we did have a sit for a while, as it was a very warm evening.
Our 'Superior King' room was a very nice surprise, most don't live up to the billing. This room was and felt luxurious, substantial and very clean, throughout. The bathroom and amenities all of a high standard, all helps in unwinding. We watched some TV and slept well in the very comfortable bed.
Breakfast was a real treat with a selection of fresh cooked options, including my choice - smoked haddock, with poached egg, spinach and Hollandaise sauce. My husband's choice of vegetarian breakfast was also excellent. Piping hot coffees and freshly brewed tea rounded off a lovely overnight and set us up for a day wandering and chilling out. We are looking forward to when we next find ourselves in this part of England. We will make a beeline for the Craven Heifer Inn.
