We parked our rental car for the duration, and used the regional train service (frequent and cheap) to get to Florence. (Ask Carlo about his motorcycle collection.) "Stayed in Pistoia due to the high prices in Florence, lovely place in its own right. Property was about 10 minutes from the station and very well presented with excellent en suite facilities - wouldn't hesitate to recommend."
