We had a lovely stay at the property, the staff were so friendly and check in was easy. The room its self was clean, bed was comfy and the shower pressure was amazing. We had our dinner at the pub which was delish and then our breakfast in the morning was amazing as well. Amazing stay would definitely reccomend

Excellent accommodation and friendly staff. The only area to consider was the evening meals menu which seemed to be dominated by "game". Cooked breakfasts are the the best I have ever had!!!!!

Excellent on all levels. A variety of vegetarian/vegan options on the menu rather than one choice, would be a tiny improvement on perfection.

Perfect - six out of five!
A blissfull Nortumberland sanctuary. Quality fittings and finish throughout and the menu is served fresh and piping to order, generous portions, perfect cuisine. Cannot fault it. Outperforms places priced way higher. Perfect journey break on our way North for us. We will be back.

Very nice room But the speaker for the dining room music was on the ceiling under our room So no chance of an early night from us having an early start The the next morning music playing from 7:30 am so no lay in either

Really nice place to stop to split a long drive down south. Really good location for exploring more locally and good drinks and food in the pub. Definitely will be back.

We have stopped at the Bull for past 3 years. Great stay everytime. The staff are fabulous at looking after us. The chef goes above and beyond with my gluten and lactose intolerance. Meals out this world. The accommodation is exellent, elegance in design and decoration. Very, very clean. Lovely village setting and central to visit Northumberland. Seahouses, Eyemonth or going on train to Edinburgh. Will to visiting in the future. 5 star holiday. One word fabulous. Feel at home when stopping at the Bull. 😍

Our 'welcome' was not overly friendly but the property has been modernised with newly refurbished and tasteful rooms. Also very clean. Lots of accessible power points in room and generous tea & coffee supplies plus free water bottles. Room would benefit from coat hooks behind door, and somewhere to put toiletries in bathroom. Also a proper chair would be more useful than a stool. Cooked breakfasts are ordered off a menu with decent choices made to order. Pastries and fruit to have with yoghurt would improve the offering.

Nice stay
The Inn was very tastefully decorated, the room we stayed in was nice the only issue we had with it was the shower was very small. Handing in the key I couldn’t find anyone to hand it to so called out to anyone in the kitchen where I was told “well you will have to wait”! VERY RUDE!! Not a nice end to to a nice stay .

All round excellence
Great location. Room excellent. Service was second to none. Sunday roast were brilliant, the game starters were excellent as was the fish whether pain cod & chips or gourmet sea bream. Breakfast were huge. Off the tourist coastal trails bur handy for Chillingham wild cattle.

Pleasant short stay.
Cosy and welcoming, the bedroom was very well appointed and full of character. Breakfast was excellent but personally struggled for choice on the evening menu, but that is personal to my tastes. Opted for the fish & chips but just average but the Black Bull burger was good. The real ale was perfect. Lovely one night stay in a deluxe room in lovely rural Lowick Northumberland.

All aspects of the Black Bull from hotel itself to food, staff and location were brilliant. The only problem was you cannot check in before 4pm. We arrived at 3.40pm and were not allowed even into the building. We sat in the car park. Not the best welcome. Maybe an overzealous member of staff abiding by the booking in time, but thankfully following that episode, everything else was magnificent.

What a great place to stay!
We loved this stop on our trip, the Inn is very nicely decorated throughout with a cosy bar, great seating areas inside & out and the rooms are really great. The food in the restaurant offers an excellent choice and the portions are a really good size, and extremely tasty, and the breakfast has such a great choose. Staff are all very friendly and helpful so we would go back in a heartbeat, highly recommend.

Excellent country pub.
The Black Bull is a wonderful place to stay whilst in Northumberland. The rooms are modern, well furnished and clean. The staff are friendly and caring. At breakfast there is a good selection of dishes, all good quality food. The only complaint we had was the length of time it took to be served dinner. Whether they had staffing problems that night I don't know, but from arriving, and the table was pre-booked, it took about an hour for us too get our food. When it came through, it was delicious.

We needed a base to explore the area and the Black Bull Inn was ideal. The friendly staff made us feel at home, our room was comfortable and had refreshment facilities. The food was to a high standard and the choice was comprehensive. We would stay there again when revisiting the area. It is close to Lindisfarne,Holy Island and other interesting places such as Seahouses and Berwick upon Tweed.
