"This is actually a great spot, but it is 38km from the nearest restaurant or grocery store. We missed that detail and had to improvise dinner. They have a cafe with an honor bar, but only pastries. If they sold a couple staples that would have been excellent. Other than that, it’s great."

This hotel is very handy for wandering around Bogarnes. My overall impression is that it is run very efficiently. Being able to park right in front of the hotel made the arrival very easy, as was getting our room key at reception.
Rooms were spacious and
the ensuite was nice, the shower area was generous, which I appreciated.
Breakfast offered a wide selection, the seating area was spacious.

We had an amazing stay at this hotel during our visit to Iceland. We stayed in their cottage, and everything about the experience was perfect from start to finish. The cottage was cozy, comfortable, and a wonderful place to relax after a day of exploring.
The owners were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help with anything we needed, which made our stay even more special. The location is also ideal - peaceful and perfectly situated for spotting the incredible Northern Lights....

The Artist Lodge is the highlight of our round trip this autumn. It’s located close to a peaceful fjord, yet well connected to the capital and route 1. We’re glad to choose it as our final stop this time, to have a well relaxed farewell to Iceland. Guests can enjoy a natural hot spring 24/7.

As a group of four we all agreed that this was a unique rest stop and full of surprises. Steinar the owner, was a lovely host and the whole place was totally relaxed.
The pods we slept in were more than adequate, warm and cosy despite being December.
The Expedia pictures did not do the surrounding area justice, as we had no idea about the river and waterfall that ran in front of the main building, or the troll walks that had all been created by Steinar as well as the books he had written.

Third stay here. Never disappoints. Located 1.5 hrs or so from Keflavik, overlooking a fjord. Hotel is cosy. A couple of hot tubs overlooking fjord. Breakfasts and dinners very good. Staff are attentive, friendly and efficient. Nice bar. Just a great place. A fourth visit is on the cards.
