Lots of improvement

We went there expecting the worst after reading a lot of bad reviews.To our suprise, the room we had was clean, it also ideal for our family. Water was warm, aircon worked, good channeks on tv. The best suprise was having both shower and bath options. Breakfast buffet was good. We used this place as our stop over, so we could tour around, and I would advise others to do the same. Phumzile, the receptionist, wss very nice and helpful. We left a packaage there, and it was sent to us the mext day.

I made a booking and had the option to pay on arrival but when l got there they had sold the rooms l booked. I had travelled all the way from Johannesburg and had children. Luckily there had extra standard rooms that l had to settle for because the family rooms l had initially booked had been sold to others without any communication. That was a bit disappointing .

Gatz guest house...thumbs down

Place is beautiful but doesnt match the hospitality. The service staff are not attentive, they dont deliver on what they have promised. They sit out in groups in the sun with no regard for the guests... stare and talk about guests. Our tv was broken and not working, the service guy spoke to us and spoke to us like we were his nephews or nieces...way too casual and still didn't fix the problem...when the manager offered that we use another room to access the television, he told the kids not to sit on the bed because we had been done a favour for. We stayed with that guy for so long, it felt like we were ay home on an inconvenient day with a maintenance guy...absolutely no boundaries nor professionalism, almost like the business doesn'tneed the money. The breakfast wasn't ready on time...they hadnt cooked sufficient food for all guests. Most of our families ate at seperate times and the hostess didnt know how to respond to times it was going to take when asked by guests. We ingormed the manager that we were coming there because it was my son's birthday, going to Sun city on Sunday, no wishes were made and we took just over 2hrs with our now demanded food coming in drips and drapes...we were so dissapointed. What a waste of money on food and service. The was a function the night before, we were not informed that there'd be one...so we had loud music the entire night umtil.the next morning. Staff is allowex to play loud music while preparing by the bar at all hours

We had a lovely stay at Gatz for 2 nights. We drove from here to Pilanesberg which can be reached within 20 mins. The staff was super friendly and welcoming, our room was clean and we had the most comfortable bed. Thanks again to the Gatz team!

Very unhygienic and messy

The staff were friendly and generally nice but didn't follow up on any requests at all for cutlery to new pillow cases (since the ones on the bed were full of make-up). The room was very dirty, used chewing gum was on the bedside table and shoe prints with dead bugs all over the walls. the toilet seat was broken and the toilet dirty. The place was dirty to a sickly level everywhere in the room, including the bed sheets. Almost wanted to sleep in the car.

False advertising

Not as advertised. Aircon not working properly makes noises. Showers hot and cold tap is not connected right. Cold is hot and hot is cold, luckily we could figure it out otherwise we would be showering in cold water for 4 days. Breakfast was terrible, cold and a shortage of food and juice. I will not recommend this place.

Modern Guest house with professional service

the receptionist is such a professional and welcoming person who ensured our stay was the best. it was so lovely to find our car washed and it was done through out our stay. the cleaners where polite and breakfast was very nice the best unfortunately the waiters during breakfast where rude and ignored the guest except on the 27th we met esnath who was very polite even helped with the toaster that no one could help us with during our stay. the hotel is modern and the maintenance guys are always helpful and on call when needed with the reception ensuring all the support and services and available at the highest level.

Decent place considering the price. Staff does their best to help you in case of problems. Nice pool, bar and outside area. Rooms could use some maintenance but in all we enjoyed our stay here. The road to Pilanesberg is pretty bad though, but obviously can’t fault the guesthouse for that.

We were downgraded after we already paid on Hotels.com for a family room, so we were crammed into smaller room (that costs less than what we paid for). We requested a braai the day before we arrived, by email, but no effort were made to accommodate us. Other guests played very loud music till late at night. The free car wash and breakfast was great.

The property is spacious and tranquil, with friendly reception staff. The free car wash is a bonus. The DSTV signal is poor, watching television was not an option. Due to the use of sceptic tanks, there is room for improvement of the lavatory facilities.
