"We only had an overnight stop here, but it was a great place to stay. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and the room and general public areas of the property were all fine. We had an evening meal and a full breakfast and they were both very tasty. Having an EV charger (22kW) in the car park was a really useful bonus as we left our car to charge overnight. Would definitely stay here again."

"This pub was a great find, lovely staff, great breakfast, parking easy and free. The history was amazing. The Gaskell tower is a must. We stayed in a heatwave , the room was warmer than expected, and we should have asked for a fan. The only slight problem, not the pubs fault, it is on the direct flight path for Manchester airport, they did stop flying between the hours of 11.30pm-6.00 am!!"

"Crew Hall represents the last Hurrah of Victorian and Edwardian country house revamps. The public rooms, foyer and chapel are architectural gems. But it have comfortable spacious modern bedrooms combining its historic charm with modern comforts. The rooms are spotless, the staff charming and the breakfast excellent. The biggest issue by far is the railway line immediately next to the lodges. Trains pass extremely frequently, including late into the night and again early in the morning.
