Great service and super service during our one night stay as we were attending a wedding in the area. Very friendly staff and super location where we saw several animals from the deck where we were having breakfast. I highly recommend this lodge.
What an ultimate memorable experience. From beginning to end . SOO much packed into our stay and every minute was amazing We arrived and had lunch , delicious food and top class service, then fed the elephants on the deck which was a lifetime experience and spent time on the deck , our accommodation was amazing and absolutely beautiful. We ended our visit with the most amazing experience anyone could ask for , Shanon our ranger took us to walk with the elephants, Hannah Three and Marty , the Rangers that look after the elephants were so knowledgeable and we learned soo many things about the elephants. It was sad to have our visit come to an end but we like the elephants will never forget. HUGE thankyou all at Glen Afric .
Awesome experience friendly staff great room nice and clean and saw so much wildlife including zebras and an ostrich right outside my room. Food was excellent too with plenty of vegetarian options. Picked this place in a last minute rush and very glad I did
The staff was great, the safari, especially being able to touch the animals, the room was excellent and I enjoyed the Wild at Heart buildings. The only bad thing was the lack of electricity. We are spoiled with that.
Really good experience and slept very well that was very important - service excellent and addressed the geyser issue ASAP promptly - sincerely appreciated.
I will stay over again if need to do business in your area. thank you so much for all the caring

Stay at Glen Afric 10 - 12 August 2018
The experience was unique but definitely not what i expected. The photo's and description are misleading about the actual room. There was no water in the morning and the path to the room was hard to find at night. I checked out early to avoid any further discomfort.
The Livingston room was very nice but a bit expensive.. The mattress is hard and lumpy and the electric blanket only works on one side of the bed. The room needs some accessible plug sockets for chargers etc, there was only an extension lead that was on the floor and difficult to reach. The game drive was good, we enjoyed the interaction with the elephants, and the guide knowledgeable. The connection with the film industry was also interesting. We found the food was good although some items on the menu were not available, and the dining room chairs were quite uncomfortable.
We visited Glen Afric 10 years ago as day visitors and this year returned after a 3 week visit to SA, starting in Cape Town and then with family in Pretoria. We stayed at Glen Afric for two nights and as it was out of season, we had the place to ourselves almost exclusively. The property has been extended since our last visit much to the benefit of it.
The staff and Nicolena were absolutely fantastic and we also met back up with Asan and George the Elephant handlers, we first saw 10 years ago. I even had a photo on my phone of Asan from our first visit. The grounds are kept in great condition and if you are unsure about doing a Safari then this is a great introduction to a game reserve.
We were at Glen Afric in what is SA,s winter but the weather was like an English summer without the rain.
We will definitely return.
I loved the room. We literally woke up around 9am. The wall and curtains are sunblocks you literally wont tell the sun is out or not.
The owner is very professional! Though the African lady at the reception needs a bit of training she kept talking to us in Tswana, yet we didn’t understand a thing she was saying. She needs to use the universal language (English) with all clients.
Will definitely go back for elephant interactions as we got affected by the rains.
Such warm friendly welcome and reception!
Friendly and helpful staff
A really beautiful place to stay, and the interaction with the elephants is priceless
I absolutely love the place
We stayed at Glen Afric for a romantic weekend getaway and had a fantastic time. The reception staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating, the room was comfortable with a lovely balcony and nice view of the bush, and the elephant walk that we did on Saturday morning was magical. The rooms are old but charming - the shower could do with a little updating. My only criticism would be of the restaurant, which unfortunately doesn't seem to have recovered well from lockdown. Not a great range of options on the menu and the staff were not as friendly as everyone else we met. But in general we loved Glen Afric - beautiful gardens, pool and location. A short drive from Joburg and you're in the middle of nowhere - lovely. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
Really enjoyed our stay at Glen Afric. We did 3 activities a night game drive, elephant walk and a bush walk our ranger Nadia was excellent shared a lot of knowledge made it very pleasant. Our only complaint is the shower in the bathroom water was cold and expected more in the room according to what was advertised on the website.
Very relaxing. Feels lile you are lost in nature, with the roar of lions in the background. Food was amazing, staff are all friendly and helpfull. We didn't want to leave. The safari's and elephant experience are things that you have to do when staying there.
The setting and location are good. Disappointed with standard of cleanliness, decor - rooms are tired and require updating. Informed at check in I still need to pay for accommodation when we have already
paid in August when booked.
