Hotel Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas - All Inclusive

8/10 Good

"We really enjoyed our stay at the Riu Palace in Cabo San Lucas. The food was excellent, the staff were wonderful and facilities clean and generally well maintained and under excellent management. The hotel and its 2 sister hotels were right on the beach in a beautiful locale. I would return to this hotel. The airport shuttle worked well for us and was included in our price. There are two things that were slight issues. We changed money at the money changer in the lobby (a separate company) on two occasions while we were there. The lady at the counter did not want to give us receipts for either exchange. We had to insist. The exchange rate seemed low on the first visit. 2nd exchange we were shorted 10 pesos so not worth our time to complain. Our advice insist on a receipt, check the rate and count your pesos at the counter. A tropical storm swept in while we were there. The hotel is open air in the hallways, access to the major food hall, etc. Power was off for a short while. We went down for supper at 7:30pm & couldn't access the food hall as the halls door was compromised. We got soaked in the process and returned to our room to change, waited for the storm to end and let the staff get reorganized. We went down around 9pm and had a wonderful meal. It was kind of an adventure. Our only suggestion would be for the staff to warn guests to shelter in their rooms, shut down the elevators and get guests out of the pools during storms."

"I have been visiting this property for over 20 years. It is in desparate need of renovation. My room was ok. My friend's needed to move rooms because it smelled awful, the floating vanity looked like it was going to fall off and the couch was absolutely filthy. It is in the perfect location right on Medano Beach so I decided to stay there again, however there are other hotel also on the beach for the same price. My heart is with this property and it's staff. I sincerely hope that they put some money into renovations as this location is a gem!!"

Sandos Finisterra All Inclusive

8/10 Good

"We stayed at this hotel for a wedding and we enjoyed ourselves. This was both of our first stays at an all inclusive resort and we liked how easy it was. The pools were awesome, I loved how there were 3 + the VIP pool that we got access to with staying in the suite. Honestly the photos do not do us justice. The only reason we stayed here was due to the wedding, we would’ve picked a different place based on the photos alone, but it’s actually gorgeous in person. The cliff side location is beautiful, but still super convenient to walk down to the marina. Our room was nice and up at the top with most of the restaurants. The pool side service was amazing. They never let your drink go empty. There were alot of food options so for our 5 day stay we never ate dinner at the same place. We felt safe the whole time. The rooms were nice a cold which was great because it was hot and humid. The spa was lovely as well. We got a couples massage and Diego and Claudia were great. Main negatives is the service was hit or miss. Room service took Forever. The last day we preordered our breakfast and then it came on time so recommend doing that. And the last day we got locked out of our room before the check out time and we had to go all the way down to the front desk (takes 10 min) and so it left us feeling very rushed and almost pushed out so a little damper at the end there. But overall a great value, loved the wrist bands. Best part is the mango margaritas and shrimp tacos by the pool."

Casa Dorada Los Cabos Resort & Spa

"Overall our experience was positive. Room was spacious and front desk manager upgraded one floor higher and we had a nice view. Of staying here request fourth floor or higher. Staff was great. The guys at the entrance were friendly but the guys at the pool were amazing. Great service. Move chairs, bring umbrellas and set up for you and outed string drinks. Happy twice a day from 12-1 and 3-4 you get cocktails 2 for one. Likes the location close enough for a healthy walk to downtown/marina area. It’s on the beach but due to weather the beach was closed for the first few days so we never did hang on the beach. It’s so nice around the pool with the service and everything. The property is showing it’s 18 years and could use some updating. We only had one meal and that was at the pool and was very good. We didn’t try any other restaurants at the resort. Good croissants however at the main bar. There are many good restaurants nearby. N’tre was really interesting and had a nice menu. Gardenia’s Tacos was excellent."
