Great value for money. Whole mini apartment to stay in. Some furnishings a little tired looking, but overall really nice. Restaurant was fantastic. Cannot believe the quality of the cooking for the price. Would love to come back.

We enjoyed our stay at the pear inn - it was exactly same as shown in pictures - very neat and tidy and little extra touches by the host made it even more special - we stayed for one night while visiting Cambridge and would be happy to visit again.

Dinner, room and service was good quality
Lovely dinner in restaurant Gaul was very helpful and welcoming. Decor was a little quirky but of good quality. We would have liked something more savoury for breakfast.

The Pear Tree Inn
Our stay at the Pear Tree Inn was fantastic. Top notch service from staff. We enjoyed a lovely dinner at the restaurant, and we could not have hoped for a better stay. Super clean, with additional comforts provided. We were taken care of here!

Brilliant overnight stay attending an event at Duxford - staff especially helpful when my husband realised he didn't have cufflinks for his shirt and they were able to help out - thank you!

Quirky but a great place to stay - will use again
So the setup is slightly strange in that there is no reception etc on Mon-Wed but the place is brilliant. You get the whole place to yourself, it is warm, comfortable and so much room. Just have to receive the email with the key code and let yourself in. I will be staying here again when in Cambridge and South Science parks (so easy to get to Granta Park and Babraham and even Addenbrookes Biomedical Campus). In the words of Arnie, I'll be back.

We were welcome to leave our luggage ahead of check in time. After our return from our activities, the rooms were ready and included lovely thoughtful extras. Beds were very comfortable and everything we needed was provided. We had a fantastic dinner at the connected restaurant. Food and service were both great.

A very comfy cottage with good facilities.
We had a lovely stay at the cottage beside the Pear Tree Inn Pear and Olive. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable and there were lots of extra touches which we were not expecting. We had breakfast with fresh milk provided for us in the fridge and kitchen area on arrival and even some port for us in the bedroom. There were also two TV's with Netflix and good internet connection. I would definitely recommend this propertyto friends and family in the future.

Very nice and welcoming owners and staff, great facilities and restaurant especially the outside bar and Pizza oven and seating. Lovely surroundings and village. Close to Cambridge which was the main reason for our visit. We will definitely be returning in the future.

Great stay; fantastic location and really friendly, accommodating hosts. Cottage was as described with the added bonus of being a few steps from the outdoor bar and pub/restaurant. Highly recommend eating in the restaurant - food was really tasty

We stayed in the cottage on a buisness trip during COVID lock down. Accommodation was comfortable and suited our needs perfectly. Difficult to comment on the inn itself, as everything was shut down, but hosts were easy to contact and everything we needed was left for us. Nice to have use of the lovely beer garden during the evenings, all to ourselves.

Great comfortable accommodation
Really lovely accommodation furnished to a high standard. Plenty of space and the facilities would make it comfortable for a longer stay Enjoyed all the extra touches - cookies, cakes, port and a pint of milk in the fridge. We also had a meal at the Pear and Olive which was absolutely delicious

Giles met us at the cottage. We arrived late due to our flight being delayed 5 hours. The cottage was beautifully decorated and very welcoming. There was fresh milk in the fridge, Belgium waffles, a selection of teas, a kettle and dishes for our use. The restaurant looked beautiful and I wish we had been able to eat there. I recommend staying here.

We popped into the property the night before our stay to confirm that it would be ok to leave our cars at the property early the next day Michael the manager could not have been more helpful and leaving the cars was not a problem During the conversation where we we staying within the property cropped up We had booked the bungalow for 4 adults Apparently the bungalow did not sleep 4 adults !! Only 2 adults and 2 Children yet we had paid for 2 extra adults and the confirmation had been sent both from the property and Expedia confirming 4 adults The cottage is marketed as having 2 bedrooms nowhere does it say it is not 2 separate bedrooms or at any time that you have to walk through one of the bedrooms to use the bathroom so no not suitable for 2 adult couples -no privacy The chef /patron picked up on this and change our rooms to be in the loft where we could have separate bedrooms Fine you would think, at the time we thought this would suffice When we checked in they tried to charge us VAT on top of the fee agreed when our booking confirmation clearly stated that all taxes and fees were included They backed down and we paid the agreed rate, Very embarrassing for us to have to debate this in front of our guests and put a real dampener on our weekend We still had to share a bathroom as it seems none of the rooms in the property is entirely en-suite Unable to shower as shower not working properly spraying water into light Would not stay again

Dear Karen: we are not at all surprised by your review. We knew from the onset you and your family would be difficult, when you came the day before to scope out the property and from the onset started yelling and making demands. . But let's set the story straight. You booked the cottage, not the loft. It would have been helpful for you to have read the actual set up, prior to your stay but you didn't. We moved a guest to accommodate you, which we did not have to do. Your party was rude, argumentative and very disorderly, so much so in our upscale establishment that we contacted Expedia and asked them to be in touch with you to either; leave the property or act like civilised appreciate, respectful guests. Your were not grateful for any anything we did which was quite obvious to all staff and other guests. Your party was unhappy-from the start extremely un-polite . This is definitely not the right place for you! Here is what we did do for you: 1. Upgrade you to the loft with no additional charge 2. Let you park two cars here the day before. 3. Give you an early check in time, you arrived 2 hours early. 4. Make you a special off the menu meal. We serve highly quality dishes here, you wanted burgers. Chef cheerfully obliged. 5.always extremely gracious and hospitable even while being yelled at. We are an upscale establishment, that puts forth a happy, friendly, yet causal and country chic property. We take great pride in our guest satisfaction. We always aim to please. This is obviously not your type of place and for this we are sorry. It is quite normal to charge VAT as explained to you. Discuss this with Expedia, VAT charge is by law, although you refused to pay this. With regards to the shower, it was a 2 minute fix, we have maintenance on staff. Had you asked an easy tightening of the shower head corrected this.

The whole stay was a spur of the moment decision, booked one hour before actually arriving …. One of the best decisions ever, staff were just unbelievable, great atmosphere and so very welcoming. The evening's degustation menu was good beyond description and the service perfect. I really cannot recommend The Pear Tree more highly and with the owners every success with their business, a wonderful venue. We'll definitely be back.

A lovely little gem!
Staying for business and arrived in the dark and cold. What a treat to find my welcoming little cottage complete with cosy lighting, warmth, scented candle and sloe gin. Breakfast supplies are left in the cottage so it’s all very relaxed if you don’t mind doing your own thing.
