"I can’t fault this hotel for the location - it’s the reason we have stayed here twice this year. But honestly, the whole hotel needs ripping out and starting again to bring it up to date. There are limited plugs in all rooms. None of them have any plugs near the bed. There are NO USB sockets anywhere. There is no aircon, and the air cooling system fails when it gets too hot. The showers are weak and badly positioned. There is (poor quality) handwash in the bathrooms, but no complimentary...

"Very nice and very clean hotel in a convenient location. Close to many restaurants and access to a number of busses and trains. The staff were wonderful and very helpful. The superior single room I stayed in was small as compared to US hotel rooms, but was very comfortable."

"This is the second time we have stayed here. The location can’t be beat for walking to so many attractions. We even walked to the theatre district to take in a show. The rooms are clean, the breakfast has anything you would want. The staff packed us a breakfast “to go” on our final morning as we had to depart before breakfast opened. Will continue to stay here in the future."

"Liked the location but very difficult to find! Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast and bar were OK. The rooms were extremely small for the price , even by European standards. There was a significant radiator leak in our room so they asked us to move to another and we did with no help offered even though we had to repack and move up one floor. that was a major mistake as the largest heat wave to hit the area in decades arrived, needless to say, there was no air conditioning!"

"I stayed with my grown up son & we need 2 beds , so we reserved a room with 2 beds . The beds & pillows were really good , but unfortunately, the single beds were too small for us !"

"Dommage qu'il n'y a de climatisation, vu la canicule que nous avons connu mais heureusement que le personnel a ouvert la fenêtre dans la soirée pour faire de l'air dans la chambre, qui est spacieuse. Du coup, il y a quand même du bruit de la circulation qui gêne un peu le sommeil donc il faut prévoir des bouchons d'oreilles !"

"The location is brilliant - walking distance to Kensington Palace, Hyde Park and right at the Gloucester rd underground. Service was beyond excellent. Julia and Rajesh were extremely helpful and got us a discounted upgrade to a great room. The breakfast buffet is divine. We loved the stay - we were there for 5 days. Will definitely be back!"

It was a great location in an old building (actually reminded us of a tenement from NYC) The shared bathroom/showers were actually quite convenient as we could all use separate facilities at the same time. The room on the first floor was a bit warm and a bit loud until midnight but would not say it affected our stay. Would recommend."

"There was a fire alarm going off between 5:30 AM and 6:30 AM, and all guests had to leave the hotel without proper jackets despite the cold morning weather. This was very disturbing in the middle of our sleep and caused significant inconvenience. Unfortunately, the hotel reception manager refused to offer any compensation for the disruption and inconvenience caused during our stay."
