Stylish but made us sick – beware of air quality
My mom and I were excited to stay at Zedwell Piccadilly — the location is amazing and the design is sleek and modern. We booked a Cocoon 2 and were surprised to find there were no windows at all, which wasn’t clearly noted during booking.
After the first night, we both started waking up with sore throats, dry noses, and congestion. By the third day, I had developed a cold, and we were feeling very claustrophobic. We became concerned about the air quality and decided to check the vents — to our shock, there was visible mold, as well as mold in the shower. This, despite the hotel’s claim of high-quality filtered air. We took photos of it all.
We made the decision to leave early and stay elsewhere to avoid getting sicker, even though Zedwell has a strict no-refund policy for early checkouts. The front desk staff was kind and offered to change rooms, but we didn’t feel confident that the issue wouldn’t be present elsewhere due to a shared air system.
Pros: Great location, modern feel, friendly staff.
Cons: No windows, air quality concerns, visible mold, and no flexibility on early departures.
Fine for a single night — but not recommended for longer stays.
