This was another great pic, very historic and easy on the pocketbook. Had all the latest amenities and was very comfortable. The staff was not at the location but remote so check-in was over the phone, with no front desk. The check-in was easy but for someone who is not real use to that, it can be a challenge if you are unfamiliar with the steps. Great stay over all.

Not a bad experience, but strange. We were coming into town fairly late, around 10:30pm, so I tried to call the hotel to alert them; I couldn’t find a working number. I found an 800 number, which was forwarded to someone named Bob’s voicemail. I didn’t leave a message. When we arrived, no one was at the property. There’s a door leading from the street upstairs, with no elevator. Thankfully there is a working phone number posted on the locked door, and we were able to reach someone and get a code to enter the building. It was a bit eerie - maybe because it was a Sunday night, we may have been the only ones there. All the room doors were open, and our assigned rooms (which we were told over the phone at the door) had our room keys on the desk in the room. My room was fine. The whole hotel is pretty dated, as evidenced by the corner shower with brass trim. The A/C worked well, and there was also a ceiling fan which is a plus IMO. The bed was fairly comfortable.
In the lobby area, there’s a sign that says breakfast starts at 6am. We started the coffee maker up and we left the hotel at 7:30, and no one had shown up, and there was no breakfast. Thankfully, we discovered Kith+Kin a few blocks away, which did not disappoint.
Highly recommend this place! Unique stay - beautifully renovated old building. Friendly staff, and very clean guest rooms. We picked this place over staying somewhere closer to see Carlsbad Caverns, and so glad we did! The town is so cute with good dining options. Would definitely stay here again.
Very neat, clean, convenient, also privacy. Self service morning time is more like home that residents freely stay in the kitchen room or privately in own room. Trusting and respecting environment made residents feel comfortable and warm and intuitively act to save and protect such warmful environment by happily following the instructions. Checkout is simple and easier. Our room has two keys, and lucky, one of them works, but other one doesn't.

This hotel is a bit different. It's a big guest house with a communal kitchen. We arrived at 9pm, the sign lights were off, and the place was unstaffed. We called a number to get a code to be let in the building. Then our room door was open with the key on the table. Though it looked nice, my daughter and I were traveling on a road trip and this was not a safe hotel for us. Just wanted to let others know what to expect. They issued a refund in a timely manner, and we went ahead to Carlsbad to stay.
Ok, I was so disappointed and frustrated; there was no response to the buzzer. I tried several times to call the phone number posted. It did nothing, no connection or ringing...I tried to call the main phone number listed on the website and it repeatedly came up with a recording that the phone is disconnected. Out of pure frustration I simply got back on the road after driving for seven and a half hours; I then drove seven more. I trust that this issue will be addressed immediately, and I expect a full refund! When I travel, I look first to be able to stay in Historic Hotels. I honestly would not give the area of Artesia nor the Heritage inn second chance to make it right.... Sad day for a small community.
I just Randomly booked this hotel and it was very different. You have to call in to check in and they buzz you and you just go to your room. Its an older building but WOW! It was so antique like but it was amazing place. SUPER CLEAN and COMFORTABLE!
I wasn't expecting that but was a great Stay. I didnt see anyone and they had litte breakfast food out but I dont need people in my face. AMAZING 👏
Nice clean property. Management not onsite however available by phone and very helpful. I had a UPS delivery that they accomodated very well including contacting me to let me know a package had arrived for me.
Towels- thick and great quality. Like the nice towels at home. what a pleasant surprise at a hotel. Internet service was 5G with good connection. A good selection of TV channels with clear reception.
Definitely this hotel was a better choice than the chain properties in Artesia.
Nice place. A bit confusing to check it, but got it. Beds and pillows comfortable. The floors are older and wooden and very squeaky. Everything was older, but comfy enough. Free breakfast was cereal, bagels, yogurt, ect
Hotel was fine...clean and attractive. I had no problem with contactless check in but breakfast area was not kept up. There was no milk and cereal was one of the fews things available. Might as well say no breakfast.
