We've pulled together all the info you need to make your flight as pain-free as possible. Follow our tips and you'll be hightailing it through the airport and having a ball in Aspen before you know it. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a cruisy experience if you've got all the right gear. First of all you'll need basic toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a spare pair of socks and a good novel. Secondly, make room in your bag for your phone, tablet and chargers, any daily medications and maybe a proper neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, don't forget to take your passport, travel docs and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by authorities. Sharp or pointed objects, like your trusty pocket knife, and dangerous products which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, bleaching agents and poisons, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should be your main concern when choosing what to wear during your flight. Loose, breathable clothing is a wise choice, as are enclosed shoes like sneakers.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Wander around the cabin and stretch your legs or do some gentle exercises in your seat to promote better circulation.
