Wherever you're coming from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you're well prepared. We've compiled a list of handy tips and tricks that will get your Carepa holiday started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First, pack in your passport, travel documents, credit cards and vital medications. Next, you'll need some in-flight entertainment to while away the hours. A juicy book and a tablet crammed with your favourite shows are some wonderful options. If you hope to take a short nap, a quality neck pillow and a pair of noise-cancelling headphones will also be useful. Finally, squeeze in a few toiletry items to ensure you arrive at your destination looking fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of restricted items can differ between air carriers, the general rule to follow is nothing flammable, sharp or explosive. This includes screwdrivers, drills, spray paint and fireworks. Sports equipment like hockey sticks, and items that could harm other people, such as swords and guns, won't be allowed on board either.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should always be your number one priority when deciding what to wear on board. Consider your choice of footwear carefully too, as swollen feet and ankles are a common occurrence. Flat, slightly roomy shoes are always a good idea.
- Unfortunately, one risk of flying long distances is developing deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by extended periods of inactivity. To prevent this, take every opportunity to stretch your legs and walk around the cabin. Compression socks and tights are another great idea to help reduce this risk.
