Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you prepare well enough. We've compiled a list of essential travel tips that will help get your Cooper Island holiday started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First and foremost, put in your passport, important documents, credit cards and daily medications. Next, you'll need some in-flight entertainment to while away the time. A thrilling book and a tablet crammed with your favourite shows are some wonderful options. If you intend to take a quick nap, a neck pillow and a pair of earplugs will also come in handy. Finally, make room for a toothbrush and some deodorant so you'll arrive at your destination looking fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) won't be allowed on. Pointed or sharp objects, like your precious pocket knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, flares and poisons, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an aircraft are no place for a fashion parade. Wear layers and opt for shoes that are flat and easy to remove.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-distance flights. It's the result of blood clotting due to inactivity and poor circulation, so do some gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression tights or socks.
