No matter where you're coming from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you've planned ahead. We've put together a list of handy tips and tricks that will help get your Davenport Centre holiday started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a great experience if you take the right gear. First of all you'll need basic toiletries, such as lip balm and hand cream, a fresh change of clothes and a few magazines. Next, leave space in your carry-on bag for your electronic gadgets, chargers, any daily medications and maybe a quality neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, be sure to bring your passport, travel docs and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Make sure you don't have sharp or pointed objects lurking in one of the compartments of your hand luggage. Other banned items include flammable or explosive products, such as fuel and fireworks, and liquids and gels in containers with a volume of more than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- Your aim here is to feel as comfortable as possible. Dress in loose, natural-fibre clothing and don't forget to pack a pullover in case it gets cool in the cabin. Always opt for flat, slightly roomy shoes as it's possible that your feet and ankles will swell during the journey. Leave the high heels and heavy boots in your checked baggage.
- The serious condition by the name of DVT (deep vein thrombosis) is a risk on long-haul flights. It's the result of blood clots forming due to inactivity and poor circulation. Doing foot and leg exercises in your seat helps to prevent this occurring. Wearing a quality pair of compression socks may also help.
