Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you're well prepared. We've put together a list of top travel tips that will get your El Chaco escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be easy if you've got all the right things. Firstly, you'll want some basic toiletries, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a spare change of clothes and a good book. Secondly, find a spot in your hand luggage for your mobile phone, a charger, any daily medications and perhaps a cosy neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, remember to take your passport, travel documents and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated. Pointed or sharp objects, like your pocket knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, spray paint and matches, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- You'll want to choose comfort over style. Prepare for changes in cabin temperature by wearing layers, and wear slightly roomy, flat shoes like slip-ons.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by extended periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Try to wander around the cabin or do some simple exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
