If you’re poorly prepared, travelling can be overwhelming. But don’t hit the panic button just yet. Follow these helpful hints and enjoy a comfortable start to your time in Incline Village. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a comfortable experience if you carry the right gear. First of all you’ll need basic toiletry items, such as deodorant, toothpaste and a toothbrush, a spare set of clothes and a good book. Secondly, make room in your hand luggage for your phone, tablet and chargers, any medications and perhaps a proper neck pillow as well. Lastly, remember to take your passport, travel docs and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked luggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated. Sharp or pointed objects, like a pocket knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, bleaching agents and gasoline, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- The narrow aisles of an aircraft are no fashion runway. Don comfortable layers and remember to take a cardigan as it tends to get cool inside the cabin during longer flights. Closed-toed, flat shoes are always a good idea too.
- A condition called deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-haul flights. It results from blood clots forming due to poor circulation. Walking up and down the aisle and doing leg and foot exercises while seated helps to prevent this happening. Wearing a high-quality pair of compression socks or tights is also recommended.
