No matter where you're coming from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you've prepared well enough. Check out these handy hints that will help get your Little Bay escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be easy if you pack the right gear. Firstly, you'll want a few toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a spare pair of socks and a good book. Secondly, leave space in your carry-on bag for your electronic devices, chargers, your important medications and perhaps a comfy neck pillow too. Lastly, don't forget to take your passport, travel papers and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by authorities. Pointed or sharp objects, like your treasured Swiss Army knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosols and gasoline, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an airplane are no place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfortable clothing and choose shoes that are flat and easy to slip on and off.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-distance flights. It's the result of blood clotting due to inactivity and poor circulation, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks or tights.
