Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you've prepared well. We've compiled a list of handy travel tips that will help get your Padawan holiday started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a pleasure if you bring the right gear. Firstly, you'll need basic toiletries, such as a toothbrush and hairbrush, a spare change of clothes and something to read. Next, find a spot in your carry-on bag for your mobile phone, a charger, any daily medications and maybe a neck pillow as well. Lastly, don't forget to bring your passport, travel docs and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by authorities. Pointed or sharp objects, like your trusty pocket knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosol cans, flares and poisons, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should be your priority when deciding what to wear during your flight. Loose, breathable clothing is a wise option, as are flat, enclosed shoes.
- Caused by sustained periods of inactivity, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a blood clot condition that can affect some passengers on long-distance flights. Reduce the risks by drinking water, keeping your legs moving and wearing compression tights or socks.
