- Air travel can be easy if you bring the right stuff. Firstly, you'll need basic toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a fresh set of clothes and a magazine or two. Next, find room in your hand luggage for your mobile phone, a charger, any medications and maybe a proper neck pillow as well. Last, but definitely not least, don't forget to take your passport, travel documents and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Double-check that you don't have a pocket knife hiding in one of the zippers of your carry-on luggage. Other restricted items include flammable or explosive products, such as aerosol cans and bleach, and liquids and gels in containers with a capacity of more than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres).
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should be your top priority when deciding what to wear during your flight. Loose, breathable clothing is a sensible option, as are flat, enclosed shoes.
- The result of prolonged periods of inactivity, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a blood clotting condition that can affect some passengers on long-haul flights. Reduce the risks by drinking water, keeping your legs and feet moving and wearing compression tights or socks.
