Depending on where you're coming from, your journey to Rust could be a breeze or it could go on forever. We've rounded up some handy hints that will help you start your next big adventure on a positive note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a cruisy experience if you pack the right gear. First of all you'll need basic toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and hairbrush, a clean pair of socks and a good book. Secondly, find a spot in your carry-on bag for your phone, tablet and chargers, your important medications and perhaps a quality neck pillow as well. Last, but definitely not least, remember to take your passport, travel papers and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Double-check that you don't have sharp or pointed objects hiding in one of the zippers of your carry-on luggage. Other restricted items include flammable or explosive goods, such as fuel and fireworks, and liquids and gels in containers larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres).
What to wear on a flight:
- Go for comfort over style. Prepare for changes in cabin temperature by wearing layers, and opt for flat, slightly roomy shoes like sneakers.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-haul flights. It's the result of blood clots forming due to poor circulation, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression tights or socks.
