No matter where you're coming from, flying can be a seamless experience if you're well organised. We've compiled a list of handy hints that will help get your Salama escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First things first, put in your passport, travel documents, wallet and vital medications. Next, you'll want some entertainment to help pass the time. A juicy novel and a tablet crammed with your favourite shows are some wonderful options. If you hope to take a quick nap, a quality neck pillow and a pair of earplugs will also come in handy. Finally, leave some space for a toothbrush and some facial wipes to ensure you arrive feeling fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by authorities. Sharp objects, like your treasured pocket knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosol cans, spray paint and gasoline, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- Go for comfort over style. Prepare for changes in cabin temperature by layering up, and opt for flat, closed-toe shoes like sneakers.
- Most travellers are aware of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by long periods of inactivity. To lessen your risk on board, drink plenty of water, consider wearing compression socks and move your legs and feet often.
