We've got the lowdown on how to make your journey an enjoyable experience. Follow our tips and you'll be hightailing it through airport security and enjoying Shreveport in next to no time. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Air travel can be a great experience if you bring the right gear. Firstly, you'll want some basic toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and some deodorant, a fresh set of clothes and something to read. Secondly, find a spot in your bag for your phone, tablet and chargers, any daily medications and maybe a quality neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, remember to take your passport, travel papers and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by security. Sharp or pointed objects, like your treasured Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, flares and matches, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an aircraft are no place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfy clothing and pick shoes that are flat and easy to slip on and off.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-distance flights. It's the result of blood clots forming due to poor circulation, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks.
