Depending on where you're coming from, your trip to Surabaya could be a breeze or it could drag on forever. We've compiled some useful tips that will help you start your unforgettable escape on a positive note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Firstly, and most importantly, put in your passport, official ID, credit cards and medications. Next, you'll want some entertainment to while away the hours. A thrilling book and a laptop filled with your favourite shows are some terrific options. If you intend to take a short nap, a quality neck pillow and a pair of noise-cancelling headphones will also be useful. Finally, leave some space for a toothbrush and some cleansing wipes so you'll arrive at your destination feeling fresh as a daisy.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on bag larger than 3null4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by security. Pointed or sharp objects, like your trusty Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosols and matches, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your aim here is to feel as comfortable as possible. Don layers of breathable clothing and take a cardigan in case you get cold. Opt for flat, slightly roomy shoes as your feet may swell a little during the journey. Leave the stilettos and chunky boots in your main luggage.
- Most travellers are aware of DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clot condition caused by long periods of sitting. There's lots you can do to mitigate your risk. Don a pair of compression socks, stay hydrated and move your legs and feet. Wander up and down the aisles of the cabin or perform some stretches in your seat.
