Wherever you're coming from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you prepare well enough. We've compiled a list of handy hints that will get your Tada escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Firstly, and most importantly, pack your passport, travel documents, wallet and medications. Next, you'll want some extra in-flight entertainment to help pass the time. A juicy book and a phone filled with your favourite movies are some wonderful options. If you intend to catch a few z's, a quality neck pillow and a pair of earplugs will also be useful. Finally, leave space for a few toiletry items so you'll arrive feeling fresh as a daisy.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by authorities. Pointed or sharp objects, like your treasured pocket knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosols and fireworks, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your aim here is to feel as comfortable as you can. Opt for shoes that are easy to slip on and off, dress in loose, breathable clothing and remember to take a jacket in case you get cold in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-distance flights. It's the result of blood clotting due to poor circulation, so do some gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression tights or socks.
