No matter where you're coming from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you've prepared well. Take a peek at these handy tips that will help get your Tola holiday started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be a comfortable experience if you bring the right gear. First of all you'll need basic toiletry items, such as lip balm and hand cream, a fresh set of clothes and a magazine or two. Next, make room in your hand luggage for your phone and charger, your medications and maybe a comfy neck pillow as well. Last, but definitely not least, don't forget to take your passport, travel papers and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by authorities. Sharp objects, like your beloved pocket knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, chemicals agents and strong acids, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your top priority is to be as comfortable as you can. Choose easy-to-remove footwear, dress in loose, breathable clothing and don't forget to take a sweater in case it gets cold in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-haul flights. It results from blood clots forming due to inactivity and poor circulation, so do some gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks.
