If you just start by driving down the main road, Lincolnway, you might conclude the town is kind of ragged, but actually it has a nice walkable downtown, a great library with a fine cafe, and a fun $4 museum (Nelson Museum of the American West).

The downtown architecture was fascinating. There were large painted boots placed around town. Made for an interesting walk.

Cheyenne is a really neat place. We attended a free concert- drinks were inexpensive, music was great, people were friendly... Would've liked it if the nearby restaurants kept their kitchens open an hour later... We were unable to get dinner.

I used to live in Cheyenne so I have great memories from there. My husband had never been there. We stopped to stay on our way to Montana. Went to the big park and walked our dog around. It's still beautiful as it was back then

Expected more from the Botanical Garden according reviews we saw. We were a bit disappointed. Small and not really anything special like in the many other Botanical Gardens we saw in the USA and all over the world.

We were visiting friends, but it's a town with a lot of character. The State Museum was cool.
