River View Lodge
10/10 Excellent
"River View Lodge is an excellent accommodation to base yourself whilst in the Chobe National Park.
The owner Sofia and her excellent staff make you feel at home . Friendly and kind.
Enjoyed the Game Drive and The River Cruise."

Thebe River Safaris
6/10 Okay
"Hotel is about 15 minute drive to Chobe National Park and to cruise. The Lodge itself is very basic. The maintenance staffs are very attentive and try very hard to make guests comfortable.
The sunset cruise is must. Boat operator and guide Sha is so skillful and sensitive. He explains many insightful knowledges on wildlife. He always knows where wildlife are: yawning hippos, fighting crocodiles and lizards, heard of swimming elephants, rare Cape buffalo, birds, hundreds water lilies and beautiful sunsetting to the last minute.
The 3 hour game drive is so so due to time limitations. You need stay at least 1 night in the park to see more wild animals. "

Kwalape Safari Lodge
10/10 Excellent
"Beautiful safari oasis. Friendly staff and relaxing environment. "

Sunbirds Lodge Chobe
10/10 Excellent
"Was fantastic staff couldn’t be more attentive, it’s a shame that Hotels.com doesn’t pay the bills on time, sometimes the ladies who own their hotel don’t get paid for two months "

Chobe Mopani Forest Lodge & Camp site
10/10 Excellent
"The staff are wonderful, attentive, charming and incredibly helpful. The game drive's were fantastic with the guide brilliantly knowledgeable, patient and excellent at finding animals to view - we saw a pride of lions relaxing after a hunt, giraffes, zebu, antelope, hippos, baboons, naughty monkeys and hundreds and hundreds of elephants. The best part of Chobe Mopani Forest Lodge apart from the staff is the watering hole. We had breakfast and dinner overlooking the watering hole watching families of elephants visit, drink, play and depart as well as many bull elephants exerting their dominance. Absolutely magical. "

Tlou Safari Lodge
8/10 Good
"Tlou Safari Lodge was a stop for me before a hunting safari. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Property was safe and quiet. would definitely stay here again. "

Chobe River Lodge
10/10 Excellent
"This Lodge is amazing. Very, very friendly. Very, very clean. Helped with everything that we needed. Highly recommend this place to everyone. "

Chobe Safari Lodge
4/10 Poor
"The Chobe Safari Lodge was a very expensive mistake.
TL;DR It wasn't just bad for the money we spent, but bad for a standard $200/night hotel.
The Bad:
- The room was incredibly disappointing: it was not well appointed, small, and not especially clean. Hard to explain how ick it felt.. your heart sort of drops when you walk into the room and you realize this is what you got your hopes up for.
- I had to ask for soap and shampoo to be brought to the room; there was literally none. It took three go-rounds with the hotel service to actually get soap and shampoo.
- The pool was filthy -- it's literally a dare to get into the water.
- The "nature walk" was the lease compelling nature we saw in Botswana.
The OK:
- One redeeming point was the woman at the front desk (Patricia, if I recall correctly?) who helped us check in; she was gracious and helpful. All other staff we interacted with were actively unhelpful and indifferent.
- The boat tour was just OK; it was not the glamorous boat tour you'd expect. It's one sub-par drink on an otherwise pared-down boat. But you do see some cool stuff.
To note:
- All activities cost extra. They are not included in the cost of the hotel.
- Essentially all of the activities outside of the standard safari stuff seemed pretty lame when you dug into it.
In all, if you're looking for a really nice stay, better to properly spend on one of the $800-$1000/night hotels for just one night rather than spending two at a truly sub-standard hotel. "
