"Place was immaculate. View of the fields was great. Local to where we needed to go and also very close to Swaffham town centre. Parking spaces clearly marked."

"Had to ask for clean towels and coffee sachets. Also had to ask for room to be cleaned and bedding changed after 3 days. So a 7 day stay only changed once. Lights not working. Shower connected to taps so unable to control water temperature. Shaving light above sink not working. Towel rail in bathroom got dangerously hot and was held together with insulating tape. A small step down to the room had no hazard warning tape or aluminaton, tripped over going out and fell down going in."

"I generally stay in 4–5 star accommodation, and based on the website description and previous reviews, I expected Hay’s Wood Retreat to fall into that category. Unfortunately, the standard of the lodge did not match the ‘luxury’ billing — in my assessment it was closer to a solid 3-star property. If you’re used to genuinely high-end accommodation, I’d recommend tempering your expectations regardless of the marketing or other reviews you may have read. It’s a perfectly adequate stay, but...

"The toilet and shower are common, with no privacy at all. The pod does not have enough space, and the common shower does not have a temperature adjustment. Not ideal for families with kids. And the cost is high for these facilities."

"The grounds and pool were absolutely amazing, we even used the boat on the lake. Gardens and grounds beautifully maintained so pretty just to walk around. We had a lovely relaxing time."
