2. Skyport Lodge

Grand Marais

"I stayed here with a friend for Le Grand du Nord. The location is awesome, just outside Grand Marais, and our room opened up onto a patio with views of the lake. We were up early one morning, so took one of the canoes for a spin - gorgeous views! Was also great to relax by the fireplace in a cozy chair on the lounge, reading with a view of the lake. Top Cook County Hotel Reviews

The Shoreline Inn

8/10 Good

"Nice older hotel/motel right on the shore of Lake Superior - nothing fancy. My main complaint was that there's not an elevator to the second floor. If I return, I'll make sure to book a 1st floor room."

The Mountain Inn at Lutsen

10/10 Excellent

"Pet friendly and nice place to stay in the off season (I don't downhill ski). There is a yoga studio, sauna, fire pit and outside igloos. S'mores fixings included! The staff provided a complimentary postcard and stamp. They are knowledgeable about the surrounding area and recommended places to eat."

The Cliff Dweller on Lake Superior

10/10 Excellent

"The Cliff Dweller does not disappoint! Absolutely beautiful views and right up against the lake. You can see and hear the waves crashing against the shore! Very nice room and nice breakfast in the morning (with great hours) and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. We loved our stay! Thank you."
