"The overall stay at Purbeck House was okay. We had a very interesting mini tour with Alex. Our room was on two levels and very spacious . It would have benefitted from some artwork on the walls. Also, a proper bathmat. I nearly slipped over getting out of the bath as the textured surface is small. The shower gel bottles are a waste of time. They are very small and it was difficult to actually squeeze the gel out. Considering the price I would have expected bottled water. There was a wedding on the Saturday and we expected the very loud music to finish before midnight. Our main disappointment was the breakfast. We've no problem with a continental breakfast but the choice was dismal. We stayed for four nights. We soon tired of tinned peaches and prunes - we don't eat grapefruit. I attempted to peel an orange but it took so long and then was dried up. You can get easy peel. There were a couple of small croissants on the first morning but we didn't have them any other day. The stodgy chocolate pastries weren't good. Pre packed waffles? Poor quality sliced bread. The unsliced option (which had then been sliced) was a bit better but there were often just a few small end bits left. I could go on........... It's good that the building is being restored but maybe some consideration could be also given to improving the current guest experience at the same time."

"The room was spacious and comfortable; the air con / heating took some time to figure out but we managed it in the end. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfasts were delicious. The hotel is very well situated for Poole Quay and Old Town, and we would certainly stay again."
