"I booked the room for my husband & son who were going to the zoo Tues. morning. The car broke down, stranding them on the road. I contacted the hotel to see if we could get our fee waived due to circumstance (can provide proof of breakdown). They said only Expedia could waive fee. Expedia said it was up to hotel & they spoke to hotel & said I'd get an email. So far, the only email from Hampton is this. "How was your stay?" Well, I really DIDN'T enjoy paying over a hundred and eighty five...

"Very clean and neat. But there were no amenities. Breakfast was lean. The orange juice was extremely watered down. The coffee tasted burnt. Lighting in the room was inadequate. No hook to hang cloths. Empty closet in a dark room. No free shampoo or conditioner. No coffee offered after breakfast hours. This was as barebones as you can get. The desk clerks were awesome. The cleaning staff was friendly and efficient. The owners seemed aloof and not friendly."

"We absolutely loved having brown stains on our ceiling, mattresses and sheets. The toilet didn’t flush properly, had to beg for towels and toilet paper. Sheets didn’t fit the bed and we had to constantly pull them back on. Beds way too small. Room wasn’t cleaned during our stay. It was a dismal experience."

"Excellent overall. Walking distance to the college and Lew Wallace study. Lots of history on the property alone to explore. Street parking only. My only complaint is that the windows are single pane glass and allow in a fair amount of ambient nose. "
