"We stayed 3 nights in mid April. First, do not let the rainy season deter you. The rains did come in the late afternoons and the trekking was a little muddy, but I think it is likely the best time to gorilla trek and/or look for the golden monkeys. "Exceedingly lovely staff. So many nice surprises like burning fireplaces in the rooms with hot water bottles in the beds, foot rubs and shoe cleanings after our hike. Mattresses were amazing. "The setting of the hotel is superb – nice beach (the water has great mineral quality to it), different walks at the door step (Congo-Nile trail or lakeside paths, coffee washing station nearby is great to visit). The food is excellent (from the local vegetable and fruit garden) and rooms are spacious and well-maintained. The downsides are 11 km of dirt track in poor condition (allow extra 10-15 min relative to google maps estimate) and rooms can be too warm at night (24C at night, no aircon) "

"My stay at Gorilla Valley Lodge was wonderful. The staff was incredibly kind and accommodating, and the gardens and properties are beautiful with views overlooking the forest (including the mountain where we did our gorilla trek!). The restaurant area sits atop a hill overlooking a valley with 360 views of the mountains and scenery. The entire property is very peaceful and the restaurant served a three-course meal every evening. The rooms were clean with little welcoming touches when we arrived....

"Le staff n'était pas d'une grande aide. Le petit-déjeuner n'était pas compris pour les 2 personnes de la chambre et la qualité laissait à désirer. Impossible de manger dans le jardin avec tous les animaux. Pas de vue sur le lac comme cela semble être indiqué.
