"Dated but clean. The road leading to Bayshore building needs to be repaired. The staff was helpful but very young. AC in our room was excellent and it was quite clean. The carpet in the hallways was smelly and needs to be replaced. I would suggest a newer building. There were lots of activities offered and water equipment readily available. A great place for a young family with littles. The pool was packed and the beach was similar with a bit of quiet. Cafe and food trucks were decent. The guacamole was fantastic.
Would I return? Possibly with some updates and improvements."
"An amazingly peaceful and serene resort perfect for a couple's getaway, or quite time with friends.
The restaurant food was really really good.
My only complaint was the lack of airconditioning in the cabins (and more importantly the lack of air flow, meant that the room was way too hot on one particular humid night.
AC really wouldn't be needed most nights, but good airflow is a must."
"Our stay at this resort was excellent! We loved all the amenities, and the staff were friendly and welcoming throughout our trip. Everything about our visit was enjoyable, and Huntsville itself is such a great town to explore. We'll definitely be back!"
"Me and my wife stayed for one night and before booking I was concerned re some of the reviews. It looks to me that the owners are trying to restart this property. It definetly could be a great destination. This property with its location provides a great launching base for all type of travelers heading into Algonquin Park. We stayed in the motel rooms over looking the lake. The rooms along that side have been fully renovated inside and was spotless. New bathroom, flooring and furniture all of it new!
It was perfect for our needs as we canoue out of the outfitters across the road the next day. For this purpose I highly recommend this place. As for the grounds they do need work and once they achieve this then it would be great for longer stays. If you want to start and end your Algonquin Park experience with a clean shower, bed and a relaxing night then I highly recommend this place."
"The property is showing its age. One wing of the hotel was a long walk from the front desk and there are no elevators.
Additionally, there were no fully closable curtains. This meant people could see into the room at night and light from outside could not be kept out. I thought it very odd. Other than that, my stay was pleasant."
