Its extremely centrally located, which made it super easy to walk everywhere I wanted to go. The property was easy to check in and out from. I was in one of the small loft rooms, and the room was clean, there was plenty of space for me to spread out. My window overlooked the back garden which offered a sense of privacy, especially since I had the window open most of the time. Overall, a wonderful stay - would highly recommend, especially for a soli traveller.

Our room had a view of the castle, and was pleasantly spacious. The busy road in front, with a narrow pavement, was less ideal. Still well worth the trouble, and it would have been easier had we arrived before dark.

Amazing view of the castle from a very spacious room. Very clean. We were in room 6 (twin beds) which was on the 1st floor (but in UK floors start with Ground so there was a flight of stairs). There was only one other room on that floor to share the bathroom with so no problem. The property does have a kitchen and a kitchenette so you can prepare (or reheat) meals. There is no staff on the property so you need to provide ID electronically in advance and will get keypad and other info before check in. I would definately stay here agsin.

It was clean and tidy but its doesnt seem very safe the area. I wouldnt go on my own to stay.

This is really a review of Expedia, not Kent Escapes and Dover Town Rooms, who had closed the latter for long-term water-damage repairs. Apparently they told Expedia this, who replied that they'd note the change, then cancel and refund outstanding reservations. That didn't happen in my case, which left me sitting in Dover trying to get in touch with someone - anyone - about my reservation. When I finally did managed to talk to someone, I was told the above story. Perhaps the owners/managers are passing the buck here, but I'm inclined to believe them and suspect instead that Expedia dropped the ball. Luckily there were other options available in town. If my suspicion is right, it's the first problem I've had with Expedia, so I'm happy to write it off as a one-time glitch - all's well that ends well. But for other travellers it might be a cautionary tale about unreservedly trusting big booking sites like Expedia when reserving small local places: follow up early with the local business directly!

Good ,When l ask for a fan , because room hot , one came next day. When l was having trouble with key, they came within about 1 hour and fix it.Room clean , good furniture, T.V. Very good shower. Not Good, had a bit of trouble getting in, as no one there to show me in.Took service charge ,out the day before l arrived, did not answer my emails on arrival procedure.Very noisy room, could hear people going in and of there rooms,doors banging when they are going out, including street door.Room door of course fire door, but very large gap at bottom, maybe, put some insulation tape on to cover, some of gap, to reduce noise. communal kitchen, smelt a bit damp , fridges could do with a bit of a clean. Garden had some work done , but still needs a bit of a clean. Bed a bit small , and lumpy mattress.But could live with it.Could do with more towel rails.
