"The service I received was excellent. After booking I was contacted by Jackie who advised me on the best options for travel to Dunoon. There was a warm welcome and I was advised on dining options in the area and the need to book in advance. The room was spacious clean and tidy with a fantastic view over the river Clyde. I would recommend this guest house and would certainly stay there again if I am in the area. Thank you Jackie."

"The staff at the royal Marine would not do any more for you, the room was upgraded to a sea view and that was amazing, we sat and had two beautiful dinners, the dining room is redecorated wonderfully and they even did a santas grotto. It’s like fine dining for incredibly prices, I really wish more people start to visit so they can keep bringing this old hotel back to full glory, they deserve it. Would we stay again absolutely!! "

There is plenty to see and do in the area too with walks and botanical gardens close by and not to far away from supermarkets and shops if needed. "My wife and I had a decent stay at the Royal Marine, though it was a bit of a mixed bag. The building looks magnificent, and although a little tired, has fantastic potential with some TLC. Our room was spotless, and we enjoyed paying extra for the sea view; watching the ferry terminal activity was actually quite relaxing. However, the hotel is feeling a little run-down and in need of some modernising. We also found the breakfast disappointing, which let the experience down. Whilst we enjoyed our visit to Dunoon, I doubt we'll be rushing back anytime soon."
