6. Xabin Etxea - Basque Stay

Xabin Etxea - Basque Stay
3.5 star property
Getaria
7.0 out of 10, Good, (32 reviews)
"This property is UNSUITABLE for pilgrims, despite its close proximity to the Camino del Norte. There were no washing or drying facilities for clothes beyond ones ability to improvise in the bathroom. The owner was uncontactable and did not respond to my WhatsApp message written in Spanish. They did not have a stamp for my Credencial del Peregrino to record my stay, a necessity to prove having walked the route. There were no cooking facilities beyond a microwave and the restaurant at the hotel...

No air conditioning -- it cooled off a bit at night, but daytime in July it was impossible to rest in the room. All fine if you're there at the right time of year, or otherwise know what to expect."
