"We were walking on the south downs way,and the hotel was in prime position,,very reasonably priced and the food was delicious The staff were very helpful and pleasant,,,we had a good nights sleep Well done to all staff members 👍"

"The room was small. Only small semi-circular shelves either side of the bed. Not bedside tables. We only had one bath towel and one bath sheet between us. There were no complimentary toiletries. Tea, coffee and milk and fresh mugs not replaced during our 3 night stay. There were no curtains and a blind that did not keep out the light. "What a beautiful location! Lovely hotel in a perfect spot. The staff were all so freindly and helpful, especially the extremely polite dark haired gentleman at the bar when we arrived. He took the trouble to show me to the room and explained everything. The breakfast was also very good, great choice and lovely to sit with a view of the Abbey. Would love to stay here again and would highly recommend."

"Registration was cursory. Certainly not rude, just “fill in your details and here’s your key.” No offer of assistance for two seniors to carry suitcases up narrow stairs. No further information offered. Room was adequate. Shower is traditional British style - in a very high narrow tub, very dangerous for seniors in my opinion. Notice in room that no outside food allowed, and may result in an additional charge. Overall good value for money, but more of a two star than a three star hotel. "

"Convenient accommodation and parking to attend the opera at Glyndebourne. Room comfortable, but difficult to open the windows, and there appeared to be damp in the bathroom floor below the cistern. Good selection for the help-yourself buffet breakfast. Staff helpful and friendly. Parking easily accessible, but very crowded on arrival at 2pm on a Friday afternoon."

"Beautiful historic place to stay, situated in a picture postcard village. We loved staying here and found it very practical given we were in the area for a music festival. The room was very comfortable, amenities very good and the staff were extremely helpful in helping us check in early! Breakfast is made fresh for each guest when they book breakfast and the pub's setting is lovely with all the original features of the coaching inn. We stayed during some very hot days so had to have the windows...
