Lovely staff, very willing to help. Restaurant only available for DBB guests. Beautiful grounds - should be fabulous!

Nice but not perfect

Lovely place, nice area with some great local pubs. Room was uncomfortably warm despite the window wide open and radiator off. There were no labels on the shower controls so it was easy to scald yourself.

The hotel looks good and is in nice grounds, we arrived when a big wedding was going on. We had booked 3 months earlier and were disappointed to find that our 2 rooms were literally at oposite ends of the hotel and could not have been further apart. We asked for the staff to look at that and we managed to end up in the same part of the building but on different floors, still not ideal. That evening after we had arrived we were looking for somewhere to eat, the bar was full so when looking for something and browsing the menu for a bar meal we were whisked off to another dining area with no discussion about other options or chance tom see the menu, it was ok but expensive and we may have chosen to eat elsewhere if we had had a chance to think about it! The following morning, we went to breakfast, we thought we had booked breakfast when we booked the hotel, it turns out we hadn't, our mistake. When we went for breakfast the staff just sat us down to eat despite not being able to find us on the list so we assumed that we were booked for breakfast. We were disappointed to find on checking out we had been charged £15 each for it without the hotel agreeing with us first. If we had known that we would probably have gone in the car to the Toby Carvery 5 mins down the road and eaten for £5 each and had the same thing. Overall nice location, slightly tired rooms, nice reception staff but lacking in terms of service, transparency, communication and organisation.

Not what I was expecting!

Lovely location,excellent staff,good breakfast,loads of character. Unfortunatley the room was TINY! Very small double room, the bathroom should not have been given this title! It was a tiny shower room,my home downstairs WC is bigger. No AC,it was very uncomfortable, boiling hot in room. Defiantly not worth the money, what a shame as could be wonderful if refurb.

Rooms are far to small.

Rooms were far to small, bathroom was a tiny shower room. No AC, room was boiling. On the plus side great staff, Very clean, great location. Character hotel.

Room was above lounge patio and had late talkers which was annoying. Site and grounds were beautiful and well maintained. Old estate character with spa amenities. The housecoat and slippers were a nice touch.

Excellent, will definitely go back again

Excellent hotel, very helpful staff, very comfortable and quiet rooms, good breakfast, lovely pool etc. Perfect location for Windsor park.

The venue was great and the staff also. There was some confusion about evening meals but it didn't spoil our stay. The area is outstanding and the hotel could have done more to provide local information.

Great hotel with lots of amenities

We visited as an anniversary celebration and were not disappointed. The hotel is clean and in beautiful settings. We made use of the free bike hire and cycled to nearby Savil Gardens. We used the spa facilities which were clean and manned by friendly staff, we both had a back massage and were pleased with the service. The restaurants served varying food and offered choices to suit all. Breakfast buffet was lovely. The room was clean and quiet and we would definitely visit again. A really lovely break.

Fantastic Location, Lovely Grounds, Amazing Staff

Visited here for my wifes birthday with my 18 month old daughter. Upon arrival we were greeted by very friendly staff and were told we had been upgraded to a four poster room! The staff had even placed chocolates and a bottle of prosecco in the room, what a great start! The room was large and spacious with an ensuite bath/shower room, seating area and desk area.The hotel had provided a cot bed for our daughter also. We used the Pool whilst we were here and it was great. lots of floats for the little ones and even a jacuzzi for the adults! For dinner we decided on the forrest bar but decided upon the orchid restaurant as there wasnt any suitable seating in the bar for our daughter. We ordered the Sirloin and the Chicken and a bottle of the chilean Sauvignon, all were excellent, although it did nearly an hour for the mains to come out, possibly due to being busier than expected on a Sunday? Breakfast was very well equipped, full cooked english, cereals, toast, fruit and yoghurt. lots of juice choices and tea/coffee. The grounds of the hotel are very well kept and great for children to run around the lawns. All in all a really great stay in the very well kept and staffed hotel. The staff were especially friendly and very kind to our daughter.

Nice hotel and booked a decent size room this time which was very pleasant - only downside is that there is no aircon in rooms only a fan but staff say there is a plan to address this.

The steam room wasn't working well on our visit and was out of order on the Sunday. Good place to visit Windsor.

Very conveniently situated hotel

As a small group we enjoyed our visit to London, quite central location ithe xmas lights were lovely . We also visited the theatre and Covent Gardens, great fun and good atmosphere.

Beautiful building, interiors should be improved. Small room, lift not working A bit remote, ideal if you have a car otherwise you need a taxi every time

Beautiful setting but not great value for money

We paid £110 for a room that when we arrived was no bigger than 8ft by 10ft (inc shower). It would have been better spending less money and going to a holiday inn/premier inn and then paying for any spa facilities we used over the weekend. We did complain- changed rooms to a better sized one but wasp nest was outside the window so it was a warm night. Did get some money back when we left. Disappointed overall, amazing setting and fantastic historic building but hoping we were just unlucky with our booking. Won't be coming again though at the risk we end up in the small room.
