"Truly excellent staying the heart of historic Chester! Incredibly good value for money from a team that genuinely cares about the customers! The breakfast is definitely not to be missed, all freshly cooked to order and of incredible local quality! Will definitely be staying in the future!"

"In the room the carpet was filthy. The mattresses were too soft. The internet was poor. The downstairs area looked very uninviting, like it had been left to rot. It was dark and depressing. There was no nice common area to sit and relax in. The carpet on the way to the rooms looked like it hadn't been changed since the 1950s and was threadbare and dirty. The area near the landing toilets was old and smelled of sewage The whole place needs an absolutely thorough makeover."

"Absolutely spotless hotel, food and the staff were first class, plenty of space in the bar and restaurant. Will definitely make a point of staying there when a hotel is needed in that area."

"Just an overnight stay but the staff are very friendly and a tentative. Room was very clean the bed was very comfortable a good choice of breakfast. I’ll be staying again when I’m in the area"

"Located convenientlly for Chester city centre, close to the Eastgate wall. Not too far from either the railway station or bus terminal if travelling by public transport. Stayed over bank holiday weekend for a wedding at the Town Hall with the reception away from the city. If have large or heavy luggage, there are some steps into the hotel. I offered to assist one guest who was leaving whilst I was waiting to check in. Property could do with some care & attention with flacking paint. The shelf above the room toilet had marks/peeled paint. Didn’t look like the room windows had been cleaned for a while, & anyway are closed shut. Did not use the catering facilities."

"Lovely building and very classic in style. Very professional and friendly staff too. I’d stay again but some little things can be improved. The room I was in (1310 yet weirdly not on the 13th floor) needed more electrical outlets. USB outlets are pretty standard now. Better quality tea and coffee in the room too. "

The Abode is my ho to hotel in Chester. Unfortunately, on this occasion, the check-in experience was not up to the usual standard and was quite disappointing. I also found the staff member to be rude and not at all helpful, which negatively impacted my overall experience."
