Iron Mountain Inn & Suites MI US 2

2/10 Terrible

"We booked two prepaid rooms through Hotels.com for a one-night stay. The rooms themselves were mostly clean, the beds were comfortable, and for a budget property I would have probably rated the stay around 3 stars based on the rooms alone. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience was difficult. Check-in took over 20 minutes and seemed unusually confusing despite having a prepaid reservation. The owners repeatedly asked us to confirm our identities, appeared confused by the fact that one person had reserved two rooms, and held onto my driver's license and credit card throughout most of the process. The property is under new ownership and the owners were polite, but the hotel felt disorganized. One TV did not work, the A/C struggled to keep up, exterior trash bins were overflowing into the parking lot, and there was a strong odor near one of the side entrances. Guests should also know that religion is a very visible part of the experience. There were Bible verses and religious materials throughout the lobby, the former conference room appeared to have been converted into a chapel, their business cards have bible verses, and the owners prayed for us during check-in, etc. The most concerning issue was billing. The hotel confirmed at check-in that our stay had already been prepaid through Hotels.com and took a credit card for incidentals. Despite that, we were later charged separately through OYO and were also marked as a no-show despite physically checking in and staying."

Lakeside Bed & Breakfast

10/10 Excellent

"My stay at Lakeside Bed and Breakfast was perfect and absolutely delightful! The room was beautiful, comfortable, and spacious. The property is on a lake, surrounded by trees, lovely and peaceful even though it is right on the edge of Florence. Very easy to find. The breakfast was delicious and generous every day. I especially loved the fresh-squeezed orange juice. The hosts were very good at making guests feel welcome and pampered! I could not have asked for anything more."

Pine Mountain Ski & Golf Resort

"One of our rooms was spacious, clean and all mechanical working properly. The second room, which I stayed in, had a space heater on the floor and a window air conditioner (which was noisy and not keeping the room cool). Can tell attempted to updated the room, but it is an older resort and they took a cheap approach when remodeling the older rooms. Bathroom was not very usable, had a pedal sink, no where to place anything, walkway into the bathroom had a incline I stumbled over the first time. It is not marked and not really visible. Shower had cracked tile and patched areas, very low shower head. They do have newer cottages to stay at but would need to walk uphill to get to the pool, hot tub, bar, dining area, which is a draw back for some. I would not want to stay in the hotel area again, might consider the cottages, due to them being new and more modern."

Baymont by Wyndham Iron Mountain

2/10 Terrible

"Room was dirty. Table has not been wiped there's still marks of drinks on the table and it's sticky. Aircon was soo dusty. Cable wires in the room has not properly mounted its just on the floor. We didn't eat breakfast as the food was not appealing. The mandarin orange was totally rotten half of it has molds and dark brown. My husband has to ask for coffee as its empty. Ice Tea container was empty. The property was not properly taken care of. Grass on the was already 2 feet tall. We will not gonna come back again."

"Pool and hot tub were not open. The faucets in the bathrooms off the breakfast area sprayed water directly on my clothes and the floor. Iwiped up the floor so rest of guests would not slip. We reported it and they did not even put up a caution sign. They said there was no dryer on site for me to even dry my clothes. They were out of milk at the breakfast for both days we were there and couldn't get milk from the grocery next door because they have an account with Walmart and delivery was a week away. I asked for the manager as I have never given a bad review, but of course they're not there and the business card sitting there whom I wanted to contact is no longer with the hotel. It was very disappointing but I would say the rooms themselves are very nice."
