  • Glass Beach is a beach in MacKerricher State Park near Fort Bragg, California, that is abundant in sea glass created from years of dumping garbage into an area of coastline near the northern part of the town. Once upon a time the sand was coated in brightly colored bits of sea glass, and social media is full of photos that make it look as if the sand still looks that way, but that isn't the case. Over the years the public has raided the beach of much of its glass. Now at first look, some might say it looks like any other ordinary beach. Yes you can still find glass here, but you have to look for it, and most of colored glass is long gone. It all makes for a fun little treasure hunt however! Love this place, I’ve been here several times. A small homey feel, unlike the chain hotel vibe. Beach and miles of maintained walking/bike trail right across the street. The main restaurant and shopping hub just a few blocks up the street but the hotel is just out of the hustle bustle. Staff are always friendly, rooms are always clean. And if your someone(like me) who is big on a morning cup of coffee, and likes to bring your favorite with you, these rooms have a REAL Keurig not one of the cheap hotel grade that holds a weak teabag of some random coffee.
