I just loveeee this castle. If I could, I should live there. I stayed for 2 nights, one outside the castle and the other inside the construction. Loved both. If you go to Tuscany, make sure you spend some nights in this hotel. The breakfast is gread. The food the same. There is a bar too. the pool is not heated. Love, love, love!!!
The castle and staff are amazing! It was the most relaxing and luxurious stay! The food is wonderful and the location is great to access other wineries. We thoroughly enjoyed our two nights here.
Castello di Tornano is heaven on earth! The property itself is awe-inspiring, with comfortable rooms inside a spectacular 1300 year-old castle. Amazing food served on a terrace overlooking the valley and vineyards and some of the best meals we've ever eaten, anywhere. Incredible staff (Duccio and Martina are particularly amazing, but literally everyone who works there is wonderful). Beautiful, historic villages and towns within easy driving distance if you want to explore the region and try other restaurants. Take a dip in the beautiful pool to cool off from the hot Tuscan sun. We absolutely loved our time at the Castello and we dream of returning some day!
I loved staying int the tower. It was amazing being in a castle. Food was wonderful and pool was nice too. Most of all I enjoyed evening by fire pit meeting other foreigners.
Such a gorgeous location overlooking the country. The staff was amazing and went out of their way to help us when our vehicle got stuck. The breakfast was superb as was all the dining. It's a great location to take day trips and to see the countryside. Not too far from shopping and other restaurants. This was an overall favorite of our trip to Italy.
This was an absolute highlight of our trip. The castle is beautiful and incredibly well kept. The proprietor visited our table one morning, at the beautiful breakfast they offered, and gave us some fantastic history of the property and the upgrades she has made to the castle and the grounds. Nothing short of excellent!
We enjoyed staying in a castle that was built in 780 A.D. It is amazing that the owners/operators provide you with all modern amenities in such an old castle.
The drive to the castle is a bit of a challenge (sharp turns and the steepness of the road). The staff is friendly and very helpful.
This place was incredible! Absolutely breathtaking views. We got the borgo junior sweet to celebrate our anniversary and it was so perfect. The tub was the best part as we got to start our morning and end our night with a relaxing soak in the tub and some tea or wine. The staff was unbelievably nice and welcoming. They welcomed us with a bottle of prosecco to celebrate our anniversary. The wine was yummy and the wine tour was informative. The restaurant food was delicious and the breakfast was abundant and quite yummy with many options and delicious cappuccinos. This was truly a wonderful stay that felt like a dream. Do not hesitate to book this hotel, it felt like tuscan paradise.
Ours was a "magical" experience.
We were here 20 years ago and the place is more beautiful than I can remember.
Staff is incredible, food is excellent, wine is fantastic, grounds are immaculate/picturesque/stunning.
This was Five Star in every sense
This was an amazing experience and my friend and I felt like princesses during this trip! We loved the castle, rooms, pool, drinks, dining and breakfast. We did not do any wine tastings, but we walked around the property and enjoyed the pool, the views from the roof and delicious food and drinks. We had drinks during the happy hour and then dinner both nights we stayed at the castle, the food was incredible!! The breakfast was absolutely incredible! Delicious! The owner was there at the time we visited and she was very friendly, along with the rest of the staff. I would love to stay here again!!

As lovely as the property is we thought it was a castle with a winery. The stupid wine tasting for $25 euro gave you three glasses and each one had barely a sip of wine in it. They don’t make wine there or have a wine cellar . Now the best part is when we checked in we turned on the ac in out lovely well appointed room and left to have a swim. When we came back the whole room was infested with ants by the thousands. They did move us into a less of a room with no credit for our inconvience after unpacking and repacking to move rooms. We asked if the stupid wine tasting could be at least credited for this trouble with ants but we’re told no but they did give a bottle of rose wine which no on wants or drinks for us to take
Great stay in this old castle. Beautiful setting with fantastic views.
Room was good size with adequate storage for lots of luggage. Pool is very nice (but a bit cold in May). Various places to sit, relax and have a glass of wine. On site restaurant has varied menu and breakfast is more than a meal. So many choices of meat, fruit, breads, pastries...
Leonardo is great at reception an we had several long conversations, both in English and in Italian. He is well traveled and understands what expectations are and he exceeds them. Anastasia is great at breakfast and makes sure you are taken care of.
Road to get there is a little challenging and signage is tough to spot the first time. It is a really sharp turn. Castle is very centrally located so day trips to all the surrounding villages is very easy. Central to San Gimignano, Siena, Castellina in Chianti, Icario Winery, etc.
Highly recommended
