"Great size room, well presented, friendly staff"

"No Sky Tv or steaming tv ,microwave, real milk. No parking big problem The bathroom so old needs replacing. Shower head hit head on i am not tall guy. Carpet starting rip in places stains bathroom floor and light cover broken in bathroom. Cheap Hotel hasn't been update for 20 years. Bed and pillow not great old. Only good for one night. "

"The rooms at Porters are beautifully kept, spacious and with ample amenities. The location is excellent and our suite was superb for our family. Staff at Porters are always a highlight - going out of their way to help and make your stay as enjoyable as possible. The surroundjng area is loaded with dining options and is a short drive to surrounding cellar doors and scenic spots that Hawke's Bay has to offer. We will be back for our third stay in April 2026!"

"My room was small but not too tiny or too big and it had a very sweet and welcoming look to it. I loved the colour of the walls, the sense of privacy in the bathroom and I loved the bed in particular for it's perfect size and for how cozy and comfortable it was! I was also given a bottle of milk when I arrived which was handy as I didn't have to buy my own bottle when I had to shop at Pak 'n' Save which was across the road. "Great location. Clean with a friendly staff. Speedy checkin but we couldn’t get the AC to work. Nobody at the front desk to ask. Wasn’t a big deal except for opening the windows meant lots of traffic noice"
