"Room had very bad smell from carpet At times you could smell smoke in the room In a non smoking hotel, but someone was smoking every day of our stay"

"This is a lovely, unpretentious motel located in Murphy. Easy walking distance to the shops and restaurants. The room was quiet, comfortable and clean. It is about a 10-12 minute drive to the John C Campbell Folk School and easy driving to various trails and scenic spots."

"The cabin was clean and very comfortable, and the staff was kind and patient (being tired after a long day on the road and a little absent minded I immediately locked my key in the room lol). The only glitch was that the hot tub was inoperative at first, but they sent someone down right away to fix it. We were looking forward to jumping in after our long day on the road, and so we had to wait quite a while for it to heat up enough to use, but at least we did get to use it and it was lovely. ...

"We had to wait literally 10-15 minutes before anyone came to the front desk. We called the "800" number to ring the front desk while standing there and still no one. Finally, a young man emerged from somewhere down the hall. While we were checking in "later," it was only 8:30-9:00pm. Weird! Then, we got to our room and as soon as we turned on the lamp....the power to the entire room went out. Weird again! We moved rooms...no issues changing, but this room had a bad odor (like urine). "We have river view from balcony and it is beautiful. Room is clean. And location is close proximity and super convenient to nearby restaurants, cafes, diners across the street, up and down the road. Our room is a little bit out dated but the river view makes up for it. We're enjoying ourselves and give this place a positive review. It's exactly the vibe and pace we needed 👍"

"Paying $300.00 a night was too expensive for what the Hampton Inn offered. Checking in was so unprofessional and unwelcoming. We did not know that our room would only be cleaned every other day. After unpacking, we were uncomfortable at how unkept our room was. It smelled, and the floor had about an inch of dust on it. The friendliest employees were the cleaning staff, so maybe they are understaffed??"

"POOR HOUSEKEEPING, ZERO AMENITIES! When we arrived, the kitchen had garbage and opened food in the cabinets from previous guests, and we found ants crawling in it. The main appeal of this place for my wife and I was the fact that there would be a full kitchen, thinking we would be able to save money by cooking our meals instead of eating out every night. The first time we turned the oven on, we could smell grease burning inside, so we ended up not using it for the rest of our stay. There are...
