Turtle beach and the hotel are quite lovely. Saw turtles on all 3 days there. Who knew Sri Lanka was sooo nice. The hotel breakfast is very good. Good variety of foods, good quality.

Old, dated, tired looking hotel. Need an overhaul!
Avoid at all cost! Hotel ia tired looking and Room is old, aircon is LOUD that you cant have a peaceful sleep! Gym equipment are rusty, Walkway to the room is dark and breakfast limited choice. Front desk is inefficient and security team lack initiative and worst they abused their authority ny profilitheir guest. The only plus in this hotel is the friendliness and efficency of service staff is crab shack restaurant.

Staff really friendly and helpful. It’s a 4 star hotel downstairs but rooms aren’t 4 star. Comfortable but compact and dated. Lovely views from balcony. Grounds and pool area plenty of space.

Super Aufenthalt mit wunderschönem Strand
Wir hatten einen super Aufenthalt im Hikka Tranz. Das Personal ist super freundlich. Die Lage ebenso super. Direkt vorm Hotel viele Restaurants und auch ein Supermarkt in unmittelbarer Nähe. Beim Frühstücksbüffet gibt es eine große Auswahl von Pancakes bis Currys. Jeder wird etwas finden was einem schmeckt. Der einzige Kritikpunkt wäre, dass am Strand viele versuchen einem etwas zu verkaufen. Sei es Schnorcheln oder eine Tour in die Heilige Stadt Kandy. Man muss mehrfach dankend ablehnen bis sie es akzeptieren. Ansonsten gibt es eigentlich keinerlei Kritikpunkte bis auf den kleinen. Ich empfehle jedem sich dort eine schöne Zeit zu machen.

Great family hotel
Great hotel for families - the buffet was good and the staff was very helpfull. There is direct access to the beach where big turtles are swimming for most of the day. The room was fine, except for the big noisy dehumifier that had to run all the time. That is the first time I've ever had to have one of those in my hotel room. The service was great, and very helpfull to our 1 year old daughter, who really had a god time at the hotel. The only negative thing I have to say is that the staff is a very shy of conflicts whit obnoxius guests. Which mean that when guests let their baby swim around naked in the pool (all normal people would a use a diaper), jump the que in the restaurant, call them idiots (or worse) they don't do anything about it. That is a shame.

Good beach location but its glory days have passed
Nice spot on the beach. A coral reef just outside that offer snorkeling with all kinds of fish including reefs sharks and turtles. A very nice dive center with good prices, friendly and professional staff. The hotel is priced as an exclusive hotel but is no longer. It is worn and old. A lot of things in the rooms are broken. Few electrical outlets, and not by the side of the beds for instance. Only local outlets, so you need adapters etc. Buffet style eating, breakfast and dinners, sadly some people from Russia can’t behave (cut in lines and empty everything which they later don’t eat), this makes the experience poor for the rest of the guest. Overly priced food and beverage, not expensive compared to Europe but 4-5 times local prices. Easy access to restaurant on the beach or the main road.

This property is a pretty run down for the price. There are some good things about it for sure, and it could be a great resort. In my opinion these are the changes that need to be made. -The front desk was slow, understaffed, have poor procedures, and at times had a bad attitude. We had a rude bartender who seemed very confused about our room number, arguing we had already checked out. Buying two beers while we were paying guests was an ordeal. The rest of the staff was great. -The bed needs a headboard, like a proper bed. Your pillow is against a dirty wall that was stained. The room needed a deep clean. -For many westerners like myself, coffee is more important than breakfast. Good coffee, readily available in larger portions, would be a simple, inexpensive change to make caffeine-fiend westerners happy. For me, bedding and coffee are the two most important things a hotel can offer. -This hotel attracts some very unpleasant guests. It isn't the hotels fault, but be prepared.

High price, poor performance
The hotel is well located In Hikkaduwa. The property is extremely old un un-kept. Service is very slow and a lot of the basics (lounge chairs, terrace, appliances) are not in good condition. Fortunately the property will undergo a mayor renovation during the first half of 2020.

Great family holiday
The location is great, the whole staff very friendly and helpful, and the overall experience was very good. Food was great. The only thing is that some of the facilities have obviously seen several years of use ... with minor repairs left.

Good location and friendly staff - especial thanks to the reception and Mr. Lasantha at the restaurant. The hotel was a bit worn down though and the room had a noisy dehumidifier - which needed to be kept running.

Ett mycket trevligt hotell som ligger centralt i Hikkaduwa, ligger intill väg med mycket trafik men det är inget som stör då det är ingång från den sidan där vägen ligger men med två dörrar in till själva rummet är det inget som är något problem, och då är ändå en av oss känslig för ljud. Stora fina balkonger som nästan är som terasser, vi uppskattade speciellt den soffa som fanns på balkongen. Trevlig personal och bra service. Fint poolområde med gott om solsängar och bar inne på poolområdet. Grön och fin omgivning. Nära till stranden då hotellet ligger ända intill. Bra säkerhet då hotellet har flera vakter som bemannar de olika ingångarna till hotellet. God mat, vi hade frukost inkluderad men denna var varierad med många olika rätter, både västerländska och lokala.

A great location! Right on the seafront and close on the Main Street. Wonderful breakfast with a lot of variety for vegans and vegetarians. Comfortable beds and rooms. A little dampness meant that the dehumidifiers has to stay on all the time. It didn’t bother us but it might disturb people’s sleep if not used to a fan. Thank you for a nice stay!

Kjempe fornøyd med vårt opphold!
Jeg og min samboere hadde 8 netter på Hikka Tranz, det var et rent og pent hotell med service vennlige ansatte. Hadde skadet kneet mitt og brukte krykker så vi fikk rom som ikke var langt å gå til og de ga oss også rom med handikapp fasiliteter på badet selv om dette var unødvendig, så var det en veldig hyggelig tilrettelegging. Nærme strand og gate med butikker, restauranter og dagligvare butikk. Hadde flere utflukter gjennom hotell og deres samarbeidspartner som vi er kjempe fornøyde med. Snill og hyggelig sjåfør, trygg og komfortabel bil og føltes oss trygge med kjøringen i forhold til Sri Lanka sine kjøreforhold. Selv om hotellet var beskyttet med væpnet vakter, noe som er veldig unormalt i Norge, følte vi oss ikke ukomfortable med dette og la egentlig ikke så veldig merke med det. God mat og drikke, grei underholdning på hotellet, selv om vi reiste i lav sesongen.

I booked online while at the hotel through Expedia. I believe that they penalized me for doing so. The room I received was one of the worst in the hotel. Was not clean, had broken lights, broken locks, broken doors, etc. I think they save this room for people who book online. Really disappointing. I definitely won’t book another cinnamon hotel again and will avoid Expedia as well do to the error unless someone explains that this is not common. Would appreciate a response. Thank you

Very noisy if there is a function on, although we did get upgraded when asked about the noise. Great pool and service but i would not recommend getting your laundry done there. Breakfast buffet was great with a large selection. Great location but i would look for better value for money next time.
